Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Hotel but wish it were closer to action. Enjoyed our stay. The staff was very nice and accomadating - the best part of the hotel was the smiling staff. However, I thought it was a bit too far from the downtown. There is a bike station right outside the hotel which worked out for us to get around instead of taking the car or cabbing it. July 27, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good service and nice location I was really impressed by the friendliness of the front desk and they are really helpful and offered me bottles of water. It may not be a big deal but I felt really happy about that. The location is about 10 mins to museum campus so it is very convenient to several sites, especially the skydeck, which is only 5-10 mins away by walking. The building indeed need to be renovated and I can tell the wall and the ceiling is very old, but overall the stay is really joyful. Some tips to take away, valet parking is $40 from day 1 to 4:00PM of day 2, which is not a bad deal, but there is a public parking lot next to the building which is about $15 per day. If you don't mind carrying your luggage and take a 1 min walk, you can definitely save money on that. There is a subway station right next to the hotel, and it is called Clinton. The last thing I want to mention is the restaurant. This hotel doesn't offer breakfast, and there is a bar/restaurant in the first floor, but this restaurant closed in Saturday night and only the bar was open. There are not too many restaurant around this hotel in the walking distance. Jesson July 27, 2015

I would like to thank the staff for your quick response to get medical help on the site. Also I would like to thank the management for letting my family have the room one additional night even though you were booked. Whether business or pleasure I have been a dedicated customer of the Holiday Inn Brand for 25 years and this is a example of why. July 27, 2015

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by What perks? Business trip, state employee, no state rate available but offered higher state rate (?) on a more expensive room with added perks so supposedly got a "deal." Now days a hair dryer, iron and board, and often even a microwave and mini fridge come standard in even lower-priced hotels - even some motels. The only additional "perks" I saw were two terry-cloth robes and two pair of terry-cloth slippers. I didn't use either. The bath was old - the tub worn and with a rounded base that was difficult to stand in. The bed, like most beds in hotel these days, was too high. It was, however, a comfortable mattress and I slept well. The beds in most hotels are usually too hard. For that area of Chicago, the room was pretty quiet except for some children inside the hotel. The room had a on-wall thermostat, which I had issues with in keeping the room at a comfortable temp. Overall my stay was fine and I'm comfortable with this hotel; I've stayed here before. I just think the price was much too high even with the lower price due to being a state employee. July 25, 2015
