Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Luck Booked the hotel for a week, Monday-Friday. First night there was a main line water break and no water in the hotel Tuesday morning. Staff advised they had a room across the street open for guest use for showing, etc. Later Tuesday afternoon when inquiring about repairs to the water line I was advised it would be Thursday before water was restored and I was welcome to either stay with no water or else move to the hotel across the street. I asked about billing if I took the move as I would no longer be at the Holiday Inn. Front desk said billing would be seamless and that all billing would be done by the alternate hotel. Checking out Friday I was then advised I needed to go back to the Holiday Inn to pay my bill. I received a bill for a total amount rather than the normal daily billing. Problem was that I only stayed at the Holiday Inn for the one night and the alternate hotel for the other for the remaining three nights. Checking I found the alternate hotel was $20+ a night cheaper than the Holiday Inn that billed me. No "Sorry for the inconvenience", just here is your receipt, now go. As a Holiday Inn Priority Club Gold Member I expected something a little better. An offer of a dinner at a later stay would have been nice, especially since I had essentially paid for the dinner in the higher rates charged. November 21, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service - Love the Beach When we arrived the staff was super friendly. Rooms were typical of a beach hotel and comfortable. Good service at the bar. Lobby has been re-done since my last visit and is very nice although I miss the murals. If you walk the beach to the jeti you can always see young sea turtles. November 14, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Water Main Break This hotel is directly on the beach! The views and the sound of the waves just can't be beat. Location is amazing! That being said, the hotel is a little run down. The lobby is newly remodeled and looks sharp, but when you get off the elevators the halls have a damp smell. The rooms are clean and nice, no smell. During our stay the water main broke in the middle of the night and the staff shuffled us all across the street to a sister hotel. They had rooms there but we definitely gave up our views. We felt the hotel could have done more to make up for the inconvenience and the loss of the view. November 13, 2015

The hotel is a little run down, however it looked like maybe updates were in progress, that is if they go on into the rooms and don't stop at the lobby area. The outside bar was great, however, here again, updates and paint would be a good move out there. Would stay again, mostly due to the view from the balcony overlooking the Gulf. November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and great service I love this Holiday Inn on the beach at North Padre Island. Friendly and efficient staff greeted me and quickly checked me into my ocean view room. The room exceeded my expectations, it was big with plenty of space to hang out, read or watch TV. I spent most of my time on the balcony watching the waves and people. The room was clean, everything worked and the King size bed was so comfortable, I slept very well. I especially enjoyed hanging out by the Sandbar and reading on the huge deck. I could walk out and be on the beautiful wide beach within a minute and that was the best of all. November 3, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful experience. We had the Master Suite and really enjoyed having all that room. The view from the balcony was breathtaking. I do wish there had been some real coffee mugs and glasses, but next time we'll bring our own. Knowing that the whole hotel is non-smoking, we had no problem, but we did have some people next to us who were smoking on the balcony so my husband reminded them the balcony was included in the non-smoking area, but they didn't seem to know about it. I would like to suggest that some no smoking signs be put on the balconies because most people assume they can smoke there. It would solve the problem I'm sure. I would have liked to eat at the restaurant more, but the service was slow and the food was mediocre at best. It would also be nice if they offered a continental breakfast in case you just wanted to eat light and run. Overall, we had a great time and we will be back. November 2, 2015
