Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SA0764 Cleaniness and comfort of the room and great service.
The personnel at the front desk were very pleasant and helpful. The room and the bathroom were very clean and comfortable. The TV worked and had no problem with it. All the amenities needed were there. The restaurant was good and the personnel were friendly and helpful. I can't get over the fact that every personnel I encountered were very pleasant and helpful. What ever you are doing to achieve this, keep it up.

Upon finding our room I was disappointed it was next to vending machines, ice machine and elevator entryway. We didn't ask to change because the facility didn't seem very busy. We didn't experience any noise from hallway or elevator during the stay.

Long distance travel with pets is exhausting, but we were able to quickly settle in. Staff offered good compensation for minor room issues.

This was my fourth visit to this Holiday Inn Elmira. It is convenient to the Fingerlakes Wine Festival at Watkins Glen and the Arnot Mall. There are both local and chain restaurants (i.e., Ruby Tuesday, Applebee's, etc) nearby. Another plus is that it is easy to get to.
The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The staff is very helpful. Overall a good value.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Woody1994 Nice, clean hotel
Nice room and the staff were courteous and friendly. The hotel is a large facility and had only one washer and dryer which we found to be inadequate.
The pool was very nice.

We choose this hotel to visit the finger lake area in NY. We had booked 4 rooms and we came from different parts of the country to meet after a long time. Hotels are just buildings with rooms to sleep in - its the staff that makes the difference. We had some very pleasant experience.
We had brought some food for ourselves, the lady in the restaurant opened up a conference room for us, provided us a microwave, got us wine glasses and jugs of water. Very helpful.
One day the cleaning lady did not clean up our room due to some confusion. The lady at the reception came with me to the room, picked up the garbage and the old towels, got us new towels. She wanted to set up the beds but we didn't need it so we refused. I was pretty impressed by her courtesy and professionalism.
We were lucky to be there for the karaoke night at the bar where we had a blast. The place is quite decent with a decent selection of alcohol.
The hotel was near Watkins Glen state park which was amazing, we took a cruise in Senaca lake which was 2 miles from the park. One amazing place we accidentally found was Letchworth State Park which is called the grand canyon of the east. What a place. Not to be missed if in the area.
Will visit this place again for sure.

You know how, sometimes, you run into a little bad luck and you need some help getting out of it?
In June, our car shredded up a belt on I-86, so we hobbled off at the Elmira exit and ended up at this Holiday Inn to stay the night, in hopes of a successful repair the next morning.
Not only was the desk staff helpful, with repair shop suggestions (if I lived there, I'd use the Goodyear shop all the time now; great staff), but their kindness and consideration for our situation went beyond anything typical in the hospitality industry.
While we were there (one night), we saw several groups meeting in the hotel's break-out rooms, both days, so obviously we aren't the only ones who honor this hotel's service.
If we had to pick a place to get stranded overnight, Elmira would hit the top of the list in terms of its kind understanding of our circumstance. And I can't thank this Inn's manager and staff enough for taking care of us in our difficult state. Thank you, everyone. Blessings.
