Drunk patrons returning to rooms woke me every night. Gratuities included in all bills - let me make that decision or include it in the price that I see on the menu. But don't fail to include the gratuity on the menu, yet give me no choice in paying it - that's part of the price. Nice to be near the beach. Pool was nice. Tiki Bar closes early. In my view, Miami itself is due for an upgrade. The entire city is run down. We enjoyed being near 41st street bridge and the shopping area to the west. Not a bad hotel, but nothing special either. No room upgrade as a platinum member.

Last minute award reservation for one night to the Holiday Inn - Miami Beach based on weather, location, and points redemption value.
Arrived early 11AM and the front desk associate (forgive me for forgetting her name) was very pleasant and informed me that my room was actually available to check-in (+1).
The room was a standard king facing the interior pool grounds (#1024). The room itself was clean, amenities were appropriate for HI properties, the bathroom was clean but am not a fan of the large soaking tubs (you understand why), and the bed... unfortunately was just ok (mattress was firm but comfortable and the pillows were average).
The pool was relaxing and towels and loungers were always available. It has the privacy from the beach but is just a short walk to the beach which was quiet and clean.
The tiki bar and bartenders (Dan and Leny) are not to miss. Dan makes great beverages and is very accommodating and attentive. This was probably the best part of my short stay at HI.
Will definitely visit again and recommend the property to anyone who wants a little break from south beach but does not mind a more family atmosphere.

Sobre el alojamiento de dos noches que tuve en el hotel quiero remarcar tres situaciones:
1. Cuando llegue un poco cansado al hotel para realizar check-in (despues de conducir alrededor de 6 horas) me recibieron con una muy mala actitud y rudeza, pero al ver que yo soy socio Platino de IHG cambiaron la actitud completamente, lo cual me parece muy deplorable, que como te vean te tratan. No se puede tolerar este tipo de exclusión social en IHG.
2. Tengo en este momento un CASO abierto porque me hicieron cargos extras y diferentes a los que el RECIBO de check-out que firme indica y estan revisando con el HOTEL; me cobraron mas de 100 DLLS en un segundo cargo a mi tarjeta de credito.
3. Con respecto al hotel es viejo, sin embargo esta con buen mantenimiento. limpio, el area de la albeca es muy pequena. La alberca muy bien. La zona de la playa es muy tranquila. Bonita playa para familias.
OJO: El estacionamiento cuesta 32 DLLS por DIA. Les aconsejo dejar su auto a dos cuadras del hotel donde pueden encontrar parking muchisimo mas barato.
