Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Appalling Experience As a Spire Elite member I use IHG hotels a great deal; however, this is the worst experience that my wife and I have ever had. Accepting that we arrived early (at about 10am) for a 3 night stay we were prepared to leave our baggage until 3pm but were delighted to hear that if we waited about 30-45 minutes the room would be ready. Check in was efficient and pleasant and we were asked for our choice of complimentary newspaper during our stay. We had an enjoyable coffee in the bar awaiting confirmation that the room was ready. Having been promised that we would be told when the room was ready I went to reception after 45 minutes and was told that it was not but that someone would contact me when it was. We waited for a further 15 minutes or so and decided that if it still wasn't ready we would go out until later. On going to reception again we were told that it was and given an apology for not being told! We collected the key cards and went to the room. Within a couple of minutes we realised that the lights weren't working in the foyer so reported this. Then a lady from housekeeping arrived and was cross that we had been allowed in without her checking the room - there were no toiletries, pressing gowns or slippers and these were provided by her. A maintenance engineer arrived and worked on the electrics in the ceiling before leaving with our key card, but still no working lights. Then a lady arrived to replenish the mini-bar, albeit that we had not used it. There was no information available in the room so we had no idea what facilities the hotel offered. We went out and were delighted to see on returning that the lights had been sorted. Next day was a disaster. Firstly there was no newspaper. On reporting this to reception they promised to get us one. Having left the hotel at 10am we returned at 4pm to find the room untouched and still no paper! On reporting this to reception we were told that there was a Do Not Disturb notice - this was untrue as, firstly, we had looked for a sign to use but there wasn't one and, secondly, it was only later that we were shown the electric system for displaying the Do Not Disturb light. We then left the hotel again from about 4.30pm whilst they supposedly prepared the room. On returning we found a very half-hearted attempt had been made - no fresh toiletries, dirty basin, unwashed glasses, etc. I called the Duty Manager who came to the room and was clearly embarrassed at what he saw. He called the Head Housekeeper who was furious. Both the Duty Manager and I took photos of the appalling lack of care that had been taken. We eventually got a paper - not our choice and one that had clearly been previously read! The Duty Manager, on being so embarrassed, kindly offered a further room service to bring the room up to the required standard and promised a free night to us. This was a kind gesture and well received, but frankly should not have been necessary had the hotel come up to the required standard in the first place. When we finally returned to our room there was a nicely laid out tray for us with a letter of apology confirming our free night together with a bottle of sparkling water, some special teas and some flowers! I must give credit to the Duty Manager (who was the Front Desk Manager) for the superb way in which he handled the situation. He was openly embarrassed by the way that we had been let down and in his letter of apology (which was not called for but which was awaiting our return) stated that this standard was not to their norm. This was the worst experience of a Holiday Inn that I have ever experienced - appalling. April 25, 2016

It was very convenient for exploring Nice on foot, and was a quiet, comfortable place to stay. Only complaint from my wife was that the hair dryer wasn't very good. Would definitely stay here again. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A place to have a comfortable sleep in Nice.... The Hotel is new according to other premises in center Nice. Close to shopping areas, old town and the seaside. Very comfortable beds and clean rooms. The construction on Victor Hugo Boulevard is a problem for coming to hotel with car but you can find the way after several attempts :) The outside terrace at the entrance is great but you need to wait for a long so that they can see you... Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 5 days in Nice Our stay in this holiday and was comfortable with clean rooms and comfortable bedding. We stayed in an executive room, which I would recommend as the other rooms appear quite small (typical European size). The pull out bed was more than adequate for my 13-year-old and would likely sleep an adult easily. The major problem with our stay was they were undergoing restoration to the ninth floor and the gym was unavailable. I wish this was told to me ahead of time. In addition there were only 13 television channels available only one of which was English (BBC). I'm sure this will change secondary to the restoration of the hotel. WIFI throughout the hotel was well-maintained and speedy. The hotel staff were amazing. We had wonderful service while we were there. Luana and Ana were able to recommend some amazing restaurants and made reservations for us. Without their help this would've been a more difficult trip. Thank you both. April 4, 2016

Excellent customer service. Hotel staff was always available to help. Highly recommended. We would definitely go back next time we visit Nice. March 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice, well-situated hotel with friendly and accommodating staff! Date- Feb 6, 7; check out Feb 8, 2016 Overall: Very good. This hotel has improved tremendously since my last stay. The staff was quite friendly and accommodating, from the front desk staff and housekeeping to the bartender. I was very happy with my stay. Accommodations- met expectation; appropriately laid out and clean; irons and ironing boards are by request only and are sometimes in short supply IHG Rewards Club Recognition- met expectation Staff- The front desk staff was very kind and unusually proficient in English. Housekeeping- met expectation. Pool/Gym- not evaluated. Breakfast/Meal Options- The menu available in the bar is limited but more appropriate for breakfast and room service. The food was flavorful and attention to detail was evident, and the bartender (Nicolas) was exceptional. Laundry- not evaluated. Computer/Printer/WiFi- met expectation. WiFi signal is quite weak in spots Property Appearance- Exterior-very good; appropriately advertised. Interior-good, but in European fashion, the spaces are very tight (esp. hallways and elevators) March 17, 2016
