Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Room odor I had a no smoking room. First night I could smell cigarette smoke. Very strong in bathroom. Figured it came through the vent in ceiling above tub. I just bought air fresheners for my remaining stay. I didn't realize hotels still had smoking rooms. I did ask when I checked out if they had smoking rooms & was informed they did, but will be remodeling soon & all rooms will be smoke free. I do travel to Rockford several times a year. Before I book next time I will inquire if it is smoke free first. February 5, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Broken Heating/Cooling Unit The room was clean; however, the heater was broken. Upon entering, it felt like it was 85-degrees in the room. I turned down the temp to 70 and went to bed. Woke up several more times to discover that it was still like a sauna. Each time, I bumped the temp down a few degrees. At one point, I bumped it down to 58-degrees (mind you, this was a night when it was 0-degrees outside), but this still did not help. I got up around 3:00am to get something to drink downstairs, as I was feeling almost dehydrated. Spoke with the gentleman at the front desk and explained the situation. I explained that it's time to let the maintenance department know so it can be corrected. He did not offer another room or indicate a time that the repair would be completed. I should note that he was nice enough to not charge me for the Gatorade that I picked up from the gift shop, in my effort to hydrate myself at 3:00 in the morning. I went back to the room, assuming there'd be a knock on the door shortly thereafter for the heater to be repaired. Waited quite a while and no one came. Finally went to sleep. All said and done, I got a few hours total sleep that night. And, the elevator was broken part of the time that I was there, which made for a fun 5th floor trip up and down the stairs. This was (by far) my worst experience ever in a Holiday Inn. January 21, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average - No frills I believe the hotel could use a remodel and the management should definitely upgrade the fitness facility. However, the hotels fits the purpose for the short term business traveler. The hotel is standard issue for sure. January 19, 2016
