Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Probably Our Worst Experience We are loyal guests at Holiday Inns and Holiday Inn Express. Our reservation was made through IHG for 2 queen beds (we had 3 adults). Upon entering the room, we found one king bed. The hotel was full and therefore, they had no more rooms. The lady at the front desk insisted that our reservation was for best price and did not mention we needed two beds. Our reservation the following evening at a different hotel Inn was correct. We booked both hotels at the same time. Finally, the front desk attendant did open a room that met our needs, but she only did this after we waited for about 45 minutes. While I was trying to get our room reservation straightened out, the front desk received a call from someone checking on their reservation. Their reservation was made through a different reservation service. The attendant said that their situation was the same as ours. The room reserved for them did not have 2 beds which they requested, but the hotel did not have that request. The front desk attendant told me it is better to book directly with the hotel and not through a secondary reservation service. My experience with IHG has always been exactly what I requested, except for this one time. The lobby was hot. The hallways were hot. An emergency alert went off throughout the hotel with the notice saying there was a possible emergency. No notice came on that everything was checked and there was no alert needed. The internet was down all evening and the next morning. The service in the restaurant was horrible --- possibly because there were not enough employees to do the job. The bed and pillows were comfortable. My husband was totally disgusted and said we deserved a free night or at least extra points!! We received neither!!! And we were not offered anything for our inconvenience We are Platinum Members and have never had this type of experience in the past. We will try to avoid this specific hotel in the future. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lobby Coffee This Holiday Inn is a very nice facility. We were a little disappointed that there was no coffee in the lobby. My husband was told we had to go into the restaurant and order coffee. That this was an independent hotel and they did not follow all the same policies. Overall this was a very pleasant stay. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice but pricey Very nice and clean ,warm staff just my family no breakfast was a deal breaker ,when I could book holiday inn express get breakfast ,coffee , a lounge area to meet with family for $50 cheaper. We normally stay at the express the past 4 years and we'll go back next year but registered late. P.S. they book 25 to 50 rooms wonder why? July 16, 2015
