Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by sam10245 nice villa's but annoying time share pressure to become an owner
The 2 bedroom villa's were extremely nice and had everything that you would need. It was perfect for traveling with kids and being able to cook meals and not go out every meal in the full kitchen.
Our issue was getting told that if we go on a 90 minute informational tour of the resort we would get $250 off our disney tickets. Well that 90 minutes turned into 2 1/2 hours and the only reason it wasn't longer was because we walked out on our sales person who wouldn't take no for an answer about becoming an owner of the timeshare property there. Even after explaining to him that we had a reservation for our little girl at the bibbidi bobidi boutique and were going to be late because we thought it was going to be 90 minutes only. Discount tickets from the hotel are only offered if you listen to their time share speel and don't be surprised if its way longer than 90 minutes. There was continuos pressure to become an owner even though we told him from the beginning there was no way we would be interested at this point in our lives. Ruined our last day of vacation because we spend our first half of the day dealing with the sales man and then trying to get our money that we were guaranteed since we were trying to leave early even though it had been way over 90 minutes. Wouldn't buy tickets from the hotel or agree to do the tour because if you are a no show they will charge you $30 for not going and no discount tickets are available without completing the tour. If you steer clear of time share talks the accomodations were nice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kayla5 Wonderful Stay!
We stayed here for 6 days with all extended family for a family vacation. Everyone had a wonderful time here and our stay was comfortable and great. The resort was very accommidating and helpful. There is something for everyone at the resort from our 3 year old to adult. We came here for vacation to see Disney World, but spent an entire day just on the resort enjoying ourselves. This resort is beautiful and a wonderful place to enjoy Florida. We will be back to stay again.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by twinkler71 Private patio and private bathroom for each bedroom!
Loved this resort. It had a full kitchen and laundry in the kitchen. The bedrooms each had their own bathrooms. The living room had a pull out sleeper sofa for guests if necessary. The large private patio had lounge chairs to watch the golfers going by. The only thing I would change is the pillows were quite large and firm. I needed a smaller, softer pillow.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Midwesterner Clean and Comfortable
We stayed two nights at this resort. The condo was clean and comfortable and reasonably priced. The check in staff was very accomodating in that we wanted to be near the condo where some of our family was already staying. The negative about this resort is almost everything that is available to do or eat is costly. It is not included with the accomodations. Therefore, we did not do much in the resort itself.

The room was perfect size and the facilities were beyond expectations. Had a wonderful time in Disney and the "rest days" at the property was wonderful. The Ledenge golf course was a lot of fun. Highly recommend and will be coming back.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Allen89 Beautiful Resort but Misled for Timeshare info and tour
The resort is beautiful, clean and has all of the ammenities. I like the cashless aspect. Upon arrival checkin was easy but we were ushered for discounts if we took the "timeshare tour." We were told 1.5 hours unless we had questions. 3 hours later we were back at our room and did not get the discounts we were told about when we arrived. We did not have any questions and it took over 20 mins to checkin for the "tour/sales pitch" Purchased our tickets anyway but when we wanted to change them we had to go all the way back to the appropriate department to change them. No pressure on the sales to start but pressured after. The next young sales guy needs to relax, I thought this young man was going to blow a gasket. He signed off so we could leave but another gentleman tried to sell us again. Can we just leave please!!
By the way, Can you clean up the beer cans on the side of the lazy river. Thx

We stay at the Orange Lake resort and we were very happy with the Resort. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Our room was nice and beds were very comfortable.
There was alo so much to do.
Only minus is that there is no allergy room (room with parquet floor) in whole area.
If I never go back to Orlando I will choose this resort again :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Elizabetha74 Excellent Resort at an Outstanding Value
We had a wonderful stay at the Orange Lake Resort. Our first impression at check-in was how HUGE this resort is. The check-in felt like we were at an airport in line for an airline counter! We were allowed to use a shorter line for Gold and Platinum Priority Club members, and were given a complimentary room upgrade to a 2 bdrm. villa. We read many reviews of the property prior to our trip, so we were prepared for the "timeshare sharks". The gal who checked us in offered us a coupon for a free bottle of wine that could be redeemed at the adjacent vacation planning counter, which we took advantage of. We were greeted by a couple of overly-friendly men who seemed a bit like used car salesmen and began the timeshare pitch. I very kindly explained that we already had our Disney tickets and that we weren't interested in using any of our vacation time to hear or promotions, discounts, resort tours, etc. They graciously gave us our bottle of wine and we didn't hear from them again (although we did unplug the phones in our villa!). Our villa was in the West Village and was gorgeous, updated, spacious and immaculate! We spent one afternoon at the fabulous River Island pools and had a lovely time. If and when we return to DIsney, we will most certainly stay at the Orange Lake Resort again! It is an outstanding resort, especially for the price, that literally backs up to the Disney property and is close to tons of great restaurants and shopping. The villas make traveling with a family enjoyable, and after a long day at Disney, it's great to be able to put the kids in one bedroom and have a separate master to get some peace and quiet.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointedpete Great resort, but understaffed
The resort itself is very nice. We just had a bad experience when we checked in. I called ahead stating that we would be checking in late around 11:30PM. We requested that a crib be made available. They stated that it would not be a problem. We checked in and I asked if the crib was in the room. They stated that it was on the way. I called again at 12:15AM (45 minutes after check in) to determine where the crib was. The staff informed me that it was on it's way. 1AM I decided to go to the front desk to determine where the crib was. She said that they were probably out deliverying other cribs and that I could drive to the security location where they managed this delivery. I drove to the security office and the security guard asked me if I could go get it. This is a hotel that is a resort that is requesting a paying customer to pick up a crib that takes 2 minutes to deliver? There is no way they were out on calls deliverying cribs at 1AM in the morning that would take them 2 hours to deliver! I see this as mis-management and lack of organization. We finally got the crib into the room at 1:45 in the morning, over 2 hours after check in. There was another incident that we had that basically had the same type of response time. If you don't have to have any thing related to your room done, this would be a fun property and a good place to stay for the money. I was not impressed with the service however.

I have been renting here for over ten years and I just love the resort. As a golfer I love the options of the four courses. the 3 bedroom villa is fit for a king, everything you can think of and overlooking the lake and par 3 course. location is perfect if you want theme parks less than 10 miles. the staff, especially at the golf courses were wonderful. the golf clinics were great and the ledgens course was in great shape. Looking forward to next January and my 11th year.

Floating rivers, heated pools, huge condo's, boat rental, jet ski rental, indoor play house.....
I took the whole family and not once did they even ask about going to the parks-that's how much stuff there is to do at this place. We were down here for a soccer tournament so didn't have a full free day where it made sense to spend a lot of money going to the parks for half a day (spend $100/personfor four hours?-I have a hard time doing that). We wanted a place that once we got back from the soccer fields we didn't need to go anywhere. This was the spot.
We share a three bedroom with friends and there was more than enough room....

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by FamilyOfFive Spacious rooms; Hard sell staff
We often stay in timeshares for their spaciousness, but do not own one by choice. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and met our expectations. The pools and health clubs were top notch!
Cautions: 1. the staff puts a HARD sell on non-owners, with some blatant dishonesty. We had not encountered anything like this in our other timeshare stays, so were caught off-guard. 2. our studio room (non-villa) had ants when we left some boxed (not sealed) food out on the counter. Keep your food sealed or in the fridge.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MunkeeBean had a great...
Check in was a breeze, front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Right after checkout they brought me to the side counter and wanted me to take part in the "time share" offers and meetings. Right away I explained that we were only here for a few days, just rest and relaxation and were not interested in the time share stuff. They politely thanked me for my time and that was that.
The villa was excellent, all the space we needed. Grocery store near by let us stock up on snacks and breakfast items. Lunches and dinners were out at the theme parks. The villa was already stocked with shampoo/conditioner/soaps/toilet paper/ etc as well as all the kitchen odds and ends you would expect. There was no maid service for the 5 day stay but there is a washer and dryer if you need. We put out garbage 2 of the days and it was gone by the time we got back to villa in evenings.
There was daily telephone calls and messages regarding the time share meetings despite us having told main office that we were not interested. Most calls were late day and we were away but the first day they called early and woke everyone in the villa.
The pools were great, not crowded and neat and tidy. Pool temeperatures were fantastic for January.
Next time a group of friends are together in Orlando we will stay here again.
As for location... it is VERY close to everything Disney but it is a bit of a drive to Universal, Florida Mall, Seaworld, etc.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by mommy63 Very comfortable beds.
Beautiful resort with so much things to offer. Three different pool areas, four golf courses, restaurants, tennis courts, trails, arcade, kids activities. I had a reunion with my sister and her family. I stayed on a regular room with a small kitchen, table and chairs. Very confortable and convinient. My sister stayed in the villa apartment. It was wonderful and spacious. Two bedrooms, two baths, full kitchen, living room/dinning room and patio. I was very pleased with the stay and prices.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by CarolinaJ A really nice resort... except for the buzzards & sales reps
The room was great, but the stay was brought down by the sales pitches to buy a time share and the buzzards!
We came to Kissimmee for non-theme park activities. The check-in process was considerably longer than it should be with my Priority Club info attached to the reservation. I think that was because I was being prepared for the hand-off to the first of a few time-share sales pitches. After the hand-off, I was escorted to another desk for the pitch. I had an easier experience as I was asked to confirm tour times, but the other family hadn't arrived, so I couldn't confirm our schedule. We had one other pitch, when I answered the phone, but again I couldn't confirm a time with them. After that, the key was to avoid answering the phone or contact with resort staff.
The buzzards on the top of our building and on the course (dozens) in the East Village was a let down. I don't know if Disney has some magical buzzard shield that keeps them on HI's property. During the day time, the smell was quite hard to take. We couldn't enjoy the balcony because of the smell. Take a look on Google Earth and you'll see what I mean!
The room itself was very nice. It was quite comfortable for two families. We had plenty of space to enjoy ourselves, without feeling crowded. The space was very refreshing compared to the hotels rooms others in our group were dealing with at other locations in the area.
I would probably stay at the resort again, now that I know how to avoid the high pressure sales pitches. The buzzards aren't pleasant, but when you're inside the room, you don't know they're there. Just don't step on the balcony!

I was so impressed with the overall visit. The rooms were very clean.Everything was organized and arranged so well. There were phone messages everyday reminding you of activities for the day.The grounds were so amazing it was like living in your own little world you would never have to leave the resort for anything if you didn't want to. Outside resort you are close to everything including Walt Disney World. The water park inside resort was crazy big and the golf course were beautiful . I will stay here again no doubt about it.

Fabulous place to stay, very close to WDW and Universal Studios. Did not take advantage of al the amenities at the resort, but will plan to return and spend more time next time.
Was not happy with the sales pitch to obtain discount tickets. Was promised presentation would last 90 minutes. Made myself perfectly clear I was not intereseted in purchasing anything, just wanted discounted tickets. Presentation lasted 2 1/2 hours almost 3! Would have paid full price for tickets had I known. If you are short on time, skip the presentation.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by true Misery to listen to time share. Broken light, coffee maker and remote
Don't get roped into the time share talk. It was 3 hours and even with pleading I couldn't get the Pakistan guy to hurry up. Even said my husband was getting high blood pressure and he kept us. the room was stuffy and had 3 broken things which were fixed within 24 hours. But when you are tired and the coffee pot, the remote and the bed lamp were all broken it seemed like a long time.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 22crusher DIdn't want to leave
We arrived early (like 5 hours) (after driving 18 hours) before check-in, yet the wonderful woman at the desk got us into our villa early. AND it was a villa with no stairs (which I forgot to ask for. We were running a marathon, and it was important that we not have to climb anything for a few days afterwards :-).
The villa was perfect, spotless and right on a lovely golf course. We had 8 people (4 adults 4 kids) and there was more than enough room for us all. Ample parking, towels and dishes too.
Everyone we spoke to was polite and well informed. The only feedback I have is I hate the sales pitch calls, but that's a side effect of a time share I guess.
I never saw the pool, but my family did, and they loved it!
We added an extra day to our stay and were told we might have to move from the big villa to a smaller one. Nope, got to stay in the big villa for the extra night....outstanding!
The villa was peaceful, there were Sandhill Cranes out our window in the morning. We never heard the other guests. I'd stay here again in a second, in fact I didn't want to leave.....

We stayed only two nights without a commitment for a sales pitch for time share. We had stayed the previous four nights in a very large hotel prior to Orange Lake and were delighted with being able to pull up to the door and being able to spread out and what a luxury that kitchen was. Every detail was well thought out from the dishwasher detergent to the Bath and Body Works products in the bathroom. We had considered returning to this property in the summer but do not want to waste time having someone try to sell us a time share. We want to relax without the pressure.

On the surface, the resort is very nice. The villas are large and somewhat modern. Tube TV's in the bedrooms, but they have a washer & dryer.
No maid service daily!
The big things that bothered us were:
* Constant calls, trying to sell us property on-site
* You want to putt-putt, ride the lazy river or the water slide? There is a charge for that.
* Print out your plane tickets in the business center? There is a charge for that?
* Expecting perks for being a Platinum Member? That's not going to happen.
We had construction a lovely view - of the parking lot. #notawesome
The biggest issue we had was renovation work going on directly above us. They were scraping either wallpaper or carpet - starting at 7 AM. Woke my two kids up, which made for a long day for the wife and I.
