Featured Shanghai Hotels

Shanghai is one of the largest economic and financial centers in China. Years of trade and Western influence have shaped the city's modern appearance, yet Shanghai retains much of its traditional charm and flavor.
Guests of our Holiday Inn Express® Shanghai hotels will enjoy exploring the city's historic landmarks and renowned shopping districts.
Not to mention, some of the most impressive skyscrapers in the world.

Start your Shanghai hotel stay with a stroll down the city's famous waterfront, the Bund, where you'll enjoy a variety of architectural styles from the area's heyday as an international banking and commerce district.
The Bund also offers the best views of the Pudong skyline.
Pudong is the shiny economic center of Shanghai, home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, Shanghai Stock Exchange, World Financial Center, Jin Mao Building and the distinctive Oriental Pearl Tower.
If you thought the views from the Bund were amazing, the Pearls' panoramic "Space Model" observation deck (over 1100 ft high) will take your breath away. You can also grab a bite to eat at its famous rotating restaurant.

Next, head to Nanjing Lu, Shanghai's premier shopping district.
Nanjing's mix of high-end department stores and specialty shops, where you can load up on Chinese silks, embroidery and jade, makes it a mandatory stop during any traveler's Shanghai hotel stay.
At the end of the Nanjing's three-mile stretch, you'll find the People's Square and Shanghai Museum, China's largest museum of ancient art.
Browse the many galleries of ceramics, calligraphy, sculpture, furniture, coins and more, and you'll get a sense of the Shanghai's rich history.
Round out your tour with a trip to the City God Temple and beautiful Yuyuan Gardens.

East meets West in exciting Shanghai, and with several locations throughout the city to choose form, our Holiday Inn Express Shanghai hotels make it easy to enjoy it all.

very friendly staff and good choice for hotel in Hongqieu
By newchina
I always use this hotel when I travel to Shanghai for business. the location of this hotel is very close to Hongqiao airport. If you need to travel within China, it is convenience and also don't have [More] travel all the way to Pudong airport. All the staff in the hotel also very friendly and very professional. I like the most is during breakfast time. As a member, I was able to sit in a separate section to enjoy my breakfast. I strongly recommend this hotel for those of you who travel to China. [Less]

Just a fine hotel
By JERRY_1976
Stayed 21 nights at this hotel and just had a fine stay. Relaxed, not overdone and good service. Just the way I like it. Of course it means some points could be better, but then you should take a 5* [More] hotel! That's also why I don't give overall rating 5. Although I liked it and would come back again it is not excellent or perfect. [Less]
Great service

Great service, efficient, good enough for a business travel with tight schedule. [Less]
New and good hotel, great breakfast for Chinese.
The hotel is located far from city centre, and subway stations. But it's a good location to stay if you would either stay overnight from PVG or visit Shanghai GM or other closed corporations. There [More] is no convenient stores or decent restaurants within walking distance. There is a snack/beverage vending machine in the lobby and the hotel restaurant offers set menu for lunch and dinner (Chinese style). I've seen many reviews complained about the breakfast, both from westerners and Chinese people. Although the breakfast is not friendly for western people, I was actually shocked by the choices offered. They are definitely many more than other budget Chinese hotels, and most US HIX hotels. There are a few types of breads, salads, fruits, sausages, fried eggs, as well as coffee and yogurt. And there are more Chinese foods to appeal local customers. E.g. Noodles, hot milk, fried vegetable, Shanghai wonton. The front desk staff were friendly but inexperienced. The check-in process was not very smooth and it went a couple of rounds to confirm my room types. The waiter from the restaurant didn't know how to bill to my room and I had to pay directly. The room, and amenities is better than average HIX hotels. The air-conditioning is modern and with low noise and I got a nice sleep quality. [Less]
