Featured Shanghai Hotels

Shanghai is one of the largest economic and financial centers in China. Years of trade and Western influence have shaped the city's modern appearance, yet Shanghai retains much of its traditional charm and flavor.
Guests of our Holiday Inn Express® Shanghai hotels will enjoy exploring the city's historic landmarks and renowned shopping districts.
Not to mention, some of the most impressive skyscrapers in the world.

Start your Shanghai hotel stay with a stroll down the city's famous waterfront, the Bund, where you'll enjoy a variety of architectural styles from the area's heyday as an international banking and commerce district.
The Bund also offers the best views of the Pudong skyline.
Pudong is the shiny economic center of Shanghai, home to the Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone, Shanghai Stock Exchange, World Financial Center, Jin Mao Building and the distinctive Oriental Pearl Tower.
If you thought the views from the Bund were amazing, the Pearls' panoramic "Space Model" observation deck (over 1100 ft high) will take your breath away. You can also grab a bite to eat at its famous rotating restaurant.

Next, head to Nanjing Lu, Shanghai's premier shopping district.
Nanjing's mix of high-end department stores and specialty shops, where you can load up on Chinese silks, embroidery and jade, makes it a mandatory stop during any traveler's Shanghai hotel stay.
At the end of the Nanjing's three-mile stretch, you'll find the People's Square and Shanghai Museum, China's largest museum of ancient art.
Browse the many galleries of ceramics, calligraphy, sculpture, furniture, coins and more, and you'll get a sense of the Shanghai's rich history.
Round out your tour with a trip to the City God Temple and beautiful Yuyuan Gardens.

East meets West in exciting Shanghai, and with several locations throughout the city to choose form, our Holiday Inn Express Shanghai hotels make it easy to enjoy it all.

Great Room and Location
By DouginBeijing
Perfect location on the river, all around a very good hotel with great value, even by China standards. Staff most pleasant, maybe too many 'good morning's though :) [Less]
Great views - nice place to unwind.
By Anonymous123
Stayed at this property a couple of times over the past few months. Location-wise, the hotel is located on the south bank of the Huangpu river front (which means it is in Pudong, technically), [More] reasonably close to the Mercedes Benz Arena, Expo Convention Center and China Art Museum metro stop (flag-on fare for taxis). You may need to plan ahead if you will be visiting other places in Puxi. There is a reminder in the room to plan ahead and arrange for taxis beforehand. For the more adventurous (and with time to kill), you can try the ferry (to Puxi - ends up near the base of Nanpu bridge but you do need to walk a bit) or the local buses (also takes a bit of walking). The rooms are very nice with floor-to-ceiling windows. Those overlooking the river are excellent. You can spend all day (and night) watching the endless flow of barges and rivercraft going up and down the river. If you opt for Club, do pay a visit to the Lounge an check out the view from the sitting area! There is even an open area at the other end (again with floor to ceiling glass windows) that opens up on three sides. Watching the sun go down is quite a nice experience. On weekend nights, you can enjoy the pretty lights that the buildings around the Bund turn on. The staff are generally very helpful and pro-active. Most customer-facing staff are able to speak English or can at least direct you to someone who can. From a personal point of view, these past stays have been very interesting - some minor issues but mostly addressed. [Less]

Not much around
By Francewil
If you are looking for local dining and want to experience Shanghai this is not the place to do it. If you are a business traveler and just go to work and return to sleep then you will probably be [More] satisfied. If you are a club member and want to enjoy the executive lounge don't expect much. Good hotel
By Joel77
I have stayed at this hotel many times and find the hotel very nice. Newer hotel ( open 3 to 4 years I believe ) so rooms are clean and comfortable. I started staying at this hotel for two reasons, [More] rates were good and the location ( away from downtown ) means less time in traffic as I head to various meetings. The room rates are getting to the point now where I am considering staying at alternative hotels. I could reliably book this hotel for less than $100 USD's but now it is over that amount which is more than I am willing to pay and there are many other options in Shanghai for less that are equally as good. Breakfast is pricy so I never add, but there is a Starbucks close by so I walk there instead. [Less]
Great support when in trouble with the local taxi
By Tom88888
I had experienced a trouble with the local taxi in which the taxi driver had intentionally took a much longer route and on rejecting to accept Shanghai transportation prepaid card but insisted on [More] paying in cash only (the machine was not broken). All taxi in Shanghai can accept this transportation prepaid card and taxi driver had intentionally taken a very long route which cost around double the price of what I usually pay. Although it was passed midnight, the manager of the hotel had helped me to intervene and had insisted to contact the taxi company to discuss this issue, and for me on not paying the taxi fee until this is solved next day. I have heard from the hotel manager next day that the taxi driver had gave up and had left without asking for the money. It was a great that I was able to reject the terrible taxi driver and on his wrongdoing. This could have not been accomplished without the help from the hotel and I really appreciate on how the hotel had helped me when I was in trouble. Thank you! [Less]

Clean and comfortable
By Thomas1117
Located in Pudung Ditrict of Shanghai, the Hotel is clean and modern. Though it's kind of far away from city center, sitll recommended with the competitive price and frindly staffs. The other thing [More] is the noise from the outside, which is generated by a truck loading center or something. Anyhow, it will be a good chice if you have car or arranged transportation. [Less]
