Featured Swindon Hotels

Make yourself at home in our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Swindon and discover the town's Victorian past at the STEAM museum, or warm yourself in a welcoming country pub in the surrounding Wilshire countryside.

From the comfort of our Swindon hotels, you can check out the immaculately preserved steam trains on display at STEAM: Museum of the Great Western Railway. Housed in a magnificent Grade 2-listed rail-shed, STEAM tells the story of the steam train and how the town was transformed by the arrival of the railway. Our Swindon hotels make it easy to explore Swindon's Old Town, built before the trains came to town. Filled with shops and cafes, Swindon's Old Town has a charming village feel. Stroll the leafy pathways of the Lawn, a 50-acre park in Old Town.

Our hotels in Swindon are close to the town center, where you can browse for cheap designer goods at the McArthur Glen Designer Outlet Village before sampling one of the area's many restaurants. Many nearby villages feature quiet town greens and ancient thatched buildings-and a short drive out of town delivers you to one of Wiltshire's famous country pubs. Few parts of the country have a better selection of pubs in which to enjoy a pint of ale or a glass of cider and a delicious meal in front of an open fire.

Stay in our hotels in Swindon and explore the town's shops and Victorian heritage or head out to the surrounding countryside. In minutes you can be admiring the rolling terrain or exploring the Iron Age hill fort at Barbury Castle. With views extending well into the Cotswolds, Barbury lies on the edge of the rolling green hills of the Marlborough Downs.

Excellent Staff
By ayrejc
Basic hotel which does the job if you want a centrally located hotel, comfy bed and good breakfast. Rooms basic and well used but entirely fit for purpose. Staff stand out in this hotel - nothing too [More] much trouble and everyone helped with a smile [Less]
Meeting at Swindon Holiday Inn Express
whilst the parking is difficult, once inside the hotel nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were there to help throughout our whole stay and meeting. [Less]
Evening meal options at weekends
By George.1882
The only thing I would say is evening meal options at weekend. You have got a all you can eat dining across the road. But to have an options of placing the meals on your bill would be nice. That's [More] the only issue I found other than that very nice stay, railway car park is not too far. [Less]
Pleasantly surprised
By Hook61
I have to be honest when I say that our expectations were not high, as I had stayed in a Holiday Inn Express elsewhere previously for business and was not impressed. However, this hotel was entirely [More] different. Check-in was speedy and efficient, with very pleasant staff; our room was spotlessly clean; and although we were concerned at our room being closely appointed to the M4 motorway, due to the triple glazing, we never heard a murmur from the traffic! The hotel is basic but has everything required for an overnight stay and at a very good price too, so overall highly recommended. [Less]
Heating
By sleepy stayover
The heating system a re above the beds which means that either cold or warm air blows directly onto you when you are trying to sleep. [Less]
Spacious and comfortable
By PeteTorquay
Very spacious clean room with good facilities. Staff were helpful and we had good breakfast as well as complimentary hot drinks during our stay which were very welcome. [Less]

By Clive84

Bathroom
By Ceri2
Although the room was very comfortable,on this occasion the bathroom was so small and cramped that we had to go into the bedroom to dry ourselves (and we are not large people!) [Less]
