Fantastic Hotel for San Francisco Visitors
By TravelingAlpaca
This hotel was very well rated so I decided to visit and it really exceeded my every expectation. San Francisco was our last vacation destination on a trip through the Southwest. I arrived fairly [More] late at night after an exhausting nine hour drive from Las Vegas and was greeted warmly at the reception desk. In the morning I was happy to see that it was literally just a stone's throw away from the beach. It was a breathtaking and amazing sight, especially after having been in Phoenix and Vegas in the week leading up to my stay at the HIE Pacifica. The hotel itself is very clean and well cared for. The rooms were very comfortable and felt nice and homelike. The decor was cute with a tasteful, light yellow striped wallpaper, and nice ocean-themed imagery on the walls. We had the best nights of sleep of our trip at this hotel. Just like other Holiday Inn Expresses the TV channel selection was excellent and better than what I get at home. Despite being right on PCH I found it to be surprisingly nice and quiet and the beds were very comfortable. The room had a kitchenette that featured a sink, microwave, coffee maker, and minifridge. A small, but thoughtful touch, was how disposable plates and utensils were available in the kitchenette cabinet. The bathroom was similarly well supplied and had beach towels and an extra wrapped roll of toilet paper sitting in a basket. The free breakfast isn't gourmet, but you can have warm cinnamon buns, eggs, bacon, and sausage which is amazing for a free hotel breakfast buffet. The seating area was in the lobby and was small, but sufficient and you could see the ocean through the windows. One caveat of the free breakfast is that it's only available from 6:30am - 9:30am. This wasn't a problem for me, but it could be an issue for night owls and late risers. A couple of mornings I got up early, ate breakfast, then brought a plate of food back up to the room for my friends to eat when they woke up. Yogurt, juices, coffee, and milk were available all day. A minor sticking point for me was the covered parking on the lobby floor of the hotel which was pretty cramped. People with larger cars and SUVs might want to park in one of the spaces across the street on the side of the road just outside the hotel. I was super protective of my rental car so I parked outside. Finding a space was never an issue. All in all, this hotel is one of my new favorites and was perfect for my visit to San Francisco, but it would be a worthy destination in and of itself for a weekend getaway. The tranquility and proximity to the ocean made the daily 20-30 minute drive into and out of the city worthwhile. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. [Less]
Good Stay
By Tedlo99
Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The complementary breakfast was OK -- nothing special -- but about what you'd expect. The only real deficiency is the lack [More] of any kind of fitness center on the property to do resistance exercises. This was partially offset by the large hill adjacent to the property with a walking path, as well as the many other areas for hiking in the area. [Less]

Beautiful views

We had a gorgeous view from the corner room and word got out that we were celebrating a birthday, so several staff members wished us a happy birthday during our stay. It was a very sweet touch! [Less]
One of the best Intercontinental's in the world!
By AndyL1506
This is hands down one of the nicest Intercontinental's in the country. Other than an isolated incident with a an extremely rude Bartender, this stay was perfect in every way imaginable. The I'm I [More] certainly will not let the incident with the Bartender influence my review. For the sake of the review I'm just going to pretend I had no interaction with said Bartender. (I do feel as though I should mention this... When the hotel got word of what transpired at the bar they immediately reached out to me to resolve the problem.) It's gestures like this that make the Intercontinental stand out as a true luxury brand. In my opinion the Intercontinental has always been seen as a "business luxury" brand as opposed to a true stand out luxury hotel. Well I can think off three locations off the top of my head that are breaking that mold.. I’m sure there are many more, these just came to mind immediately. The Intercontinental San Francisco, The Intercontinental Boston, and The Intercontinental NYC Times Square are all examples of how this amazing brand is proving without any doubts that they are hands down a true luxury brand that will leave you feeling well rested and already thinking about how soon you can stay again before you’ve even checked out. Now on the the specifics. I arrived in SFO around 4pm on the DeltaOne transcon flight from JFK. Once at the hotel, check in took no more than 60 seconds. I was given the keys to my room, which was an incredible suite on the top floor with Club Lounge access. (Ambassador Upgrade) The room itself was a beautiful suite. There was a letter from the GM along with fresh fruit and two bottles of water, one still & one sparkling waiting in the room. I also noticed a small hand written note on the bed in the Master a Bedroom. The note simply stated that as I had requester 2 extra pillows and 4 extra washcloth's had been placed in the room prior to my arrival. When you first entered the suite the guest bathroom was immediately on your right. For a guest bath, this was a very large area. A few feet past the bathroom was the living / dining area.” The dining room table comfortably sat 4. Just beyond that was the living area which included a desk, an over sized sofa and the largest TV I've ever seen in a hotel room. The TV in the bedroom was equal in size. The TV in the master bath was around 32". The master bath was almost the same size as the bedroom itself. The had a deep soaking tub in addition to a very large walk in shower. The bathroom and shower were stocked with full size premium toiletries. Final thought….. This is one of the very best Intercontinental's I've ever stayed at! [Less]
Comfortable bed and convenient location
By Groundhog8
We had a quick stopover enroute to home and needed to spend a night near SFO. This Holiday Inn Express was very conveniently located both close to the SFO but also to a great diner that we love -- [More] Max's. Would recommend this hotel. [Less]
Great centralized location for business on the penninsula

Very friendly front desk personnel, clean rooms as to be expected from IHG properties. Beautiful views of the bay and final approach of aircraft landing at SFO. [Less]
Nice room
By KTSTANG
Very easy to get to, the room was nice and quiet. I have food allergies so the breakfast was very limiting to me. There was 2 choices of fruit, I wish there was more options. [Less]
