Great One Night Stay
By fryods
This is a pretty solid Crowne Plaza. A number of the CP locations I have been to are pretty outdated, but this one seemed to be a little more "with the times" than others. It's a great location near [More] downtown, and walking distance from a lot of restaurants (hope you like Greek food, there is a TON nearby!). The restaurant was great for breakfast, and the room was decently sized, with a balcony to enjoy! The sliding door kept out the noise of the city pretty well, I should add. One major downside to my room (and possibly others) is the awful placement of power outlets. There are some built into the desk, but there aren't any near the beds. I know this is more difficult to pull off in established buildings due to wiring, but I'd imagine in the 21st century there would be more emphasis on things like power outlet convenience and WiFi (a huge issue for most IHG properties... this location had ok WiFi, however). Check in was the only noticeable hiccup at this location. I went to the location at the front desk with the "Priority Check-In" sign, and was ignored completely by the employee at the desk. Upon finally getting his attention, he just kind of muttered "Oh I gotta get this..." or something along those lines. They had some sort of event happening downstairs at the hotel and selling tickets, but I would imagine checking in guests would be a higher priority. Had to wait in line, which fortunately moved quickly, but brings up the question of why even have a "Priority Check-In" offering at all when it is so awfully inconsistent at every IHG location, and employees seem to be completely unaware of the offering. Overall, a solid stay. Good restaurant, good views, good rooms. [Less]

The hotel staff is extremely polite. The bathroom doors slide and are a little inconvenient b/c they don't shut all the way w/o pulling extremely hard. [Less]
Magnificent stay on the Magnificent Mile
By Jose0321
I went to Chicago for business at the same took I brought along my fiancé and it was her first time in the city. The staff was so helpful and informative. The outside as well as the inside appearance [More] of the hotel was perfect very clean, did not feel like a holiday inn express. The only downfall was that the rooms are tiny. Granted you are all in the room for sleeping since you are out seeing the sights of chi town. Just has a 6'4 man I felt a little closed in. Other than that perfect location right in the center of the mile and a cab ride away from Old town it was perfect. We already said we will be staying here when we return. [Less]
Most Comfortable Bed/Wish I Could Have Took It Home
By filmor
I read a lot of the one star reviews to see what people disliked about this hotel. I was able to discharge a lot of the comments. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The [More] front desk recognized me as a Platinum member and was very courteous at check in. I had a king room on the 15th floor. The room was a little small but I have stayed in smaller for a similar price. The room was clean and the bathroom was very nice. Everything in the room worked and had a nice flat screen TV. The hotel was quiet at night and I was able to sleep well. The view was not that great from my room but you could see some of the high rise buildings in downtown. The hotel is located in a great area. Shopping, restaurants, Magnificent Mile all were within blocks. The three restaurants I wanted to visit were all within walking distance of the hotel. The breakfast was fresh, fully stocked with many choices of cold and hot items and was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel but check many websites for the best price. The hotel can be very pricey at times. [Less]
It was awesome
The hotel was very cool. The breakfast was refreshing and the location is in the middle of one the most fun places in Chicago. Consult ma' man Curtis and he will point you to the most happening [More] places in Chicago. Trump tower is right in front of the hotel and the views are cool. The Chicago theatre is in walkable distance. The staff at this hotel are the best. [Less]

North Shore Home Away from Home
By Jimbo6
Staybridge Suites Chicago-Glenview is always first on our list when we return for reunions or to visit family and friends on the North Shore. The breakfast buffet and almost endless supply of [More] Wolfgang puck's coffee are a great way to begin any day. The property is very convenient for New Trier, Glenbrook and Loyola alums to have a sense of home while they visit their old stomping grounds. Plus the indoor pool,. free laundry, free internet, comfy bed and blackout shades keep us coming back. We'll be back soon. [Less]

Friendly Staff Comfortable environment Traveled with 2 kids and 3 adults and it was nice to have the extra space for the little ones. Wasn't concerned about the little ones sitting on the floor as [More] the place was clean and well cared for. [Less]
