Featured Beijing Hotels

Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China and one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.
Despite the modern façade, the city's endless array of historic attractions is the real draw here.
One could spend days, if not their entire Beijing hotel stay, exploring its beautiful palaces, temples and landscapes. Choose your Holiday Inn Express® hotel in Beijing wisely, and you'll get the most out of your trip to this fascinating city.

Beijing's simple grid-like layout and abundance of public transportation make it easy to navigate.
However, the city is heavily congested with traffic.
Your best bet is to focus on one area of Beijing at a time.
Dong Cheng's central location and numerous attractions make it a great place to start.
This district is home to Tiananmen Square, the National Museum of China, Temple of Confucius and the Forbidden City.
This "city within a city" was the private residence of Ming and Qing emperors and their families for more than 500 years.
A good portion of the city is in disrepair (and closed to the public), but the grand palaces, hallways and courtyards that remain are sure to impress.
South of Tiananmen, you'll find the Temple of Heaven, where Chinese emperors used to perform religious ceremonies.
Today, the temple serves as a tourist attraction and large public space, and you're more likely to see Tai Chi performed in mass on the front lawn than any ancient rituals.

Beijing's universities and the high-tech industries of ZhongGuanCun (dubbed "China's Silicon Valley") can be found north of the city in the Haidian district.
Haidian is also home to the Summer Palace and its magnificent gardens.
Of course, no Beijing hotel stay is complete without a trip to the Great Wall of China, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
The views from the popular Badaling section are worth the crowds and tourist kitsch.

If you prefer the hustle and bustle of modern day Beijing, don't worry.
The city offers plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment options too.
Load up on souvenirs at the famous Panjiayuan Market, then follow the glow of red lanterns to the snack shops of Gui Jie (Ghost Street) for inexpensive Chinese dumplings and Peking duck.
If you're truly daring, venture to the Wangfujing Night Market and sample local delicacies like scorpions, sea cucumbers and deep-friend grasshoppers.
Beijing nightlife can accommodate just about any traveler's taste.
Enjoy cocktails and twilight boat rides on Houhai Lake, trendy dance clubs in the Sanlitun district, and traditional Beijing Opera is the city's theatres and tea houses.

Book one for our hotels in Beijing today and start planning your trip to this truly unique destination.

OK for business, very friendly staff
By ChingChoke
Rooms are adequate but a bit grubby and worn. Staff are very pleasant and friendly, try to be helpful; many speak very limited English. My experience with lunch in the Essence Restaurant was: can be [More] good (scallops) but can be poor (burger did not match order, very under cooked inside). Understanding manager explained trainees were the problem; if they were trainees, it sounds like supervision failed. Fine for a business stay, rooms really need a major cleaning. [Less]
Great location
By SeanMavDu
This is wonderful location to the shopping area, theatre and business centre. I especially love the local Chinese breakfast next to the hotel which was also a popular brand to the President of China. [More] As an art lover, the most famous theatre is right next to the hotel. Forbidden city is also accessible. So I'd recommend this hotel. [Less]
Nice and clean hotel
By Comanl
Clean and spacious room, good location and close to public transport. [Less]
Friendly Staff
By MeganL
Other than the great location of the hotel, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. As a Platinum Elite member, I was welcomed as a return guest with a free upgrade to the executive floor. [More] Horizon Zhang helped to reseve the right room for me before my arrival, and went out of his way to make me feel at home during my stay. I would definitely stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown Beijing again next time I visit China. [Less]
Great staff, service and location

This is my second visit to this Hotel and the reason I keep coming back is the service and staff attitude. Excellent location, near local shops and subway system. [Less]
A Beijing Gem in Financial District
By Aloyalclient
Great location, great service, great value. A must to check it out. [Less]
Rooms too hot in Winter
By Frequent traveller 21
PROS: The hotel is well maintained and the staff are very good across all areas. The rooms are clean and quite large with very nice bathrooms. CONS: In winter you cannot control the [More] air-conditioning. The temperature seems to be set at 24 deg., Celsius. It is far too hot to sleep, even with the air-con turned off as you cannot open the windows. The pollution was at dangerous levels when I was there so even if you could open the windows it wouldn't be advisable. [Less]
Great Stay
By stevenL1
Overall our stay at the Intercontinental, Beijing Financial District was excellent. There were only two minor points on which to improve. First is the fact that for a hotel accommodating [More] international clients, there might have been more staff fluent in English. Communicating was a little difficult with some of the staff. Internet access could have been better. There was no internet access in the public areas. This could be an issue related to overall access within the country and so not necessarily an issue with the hotel itself. Access within the guest room was fine. [Less]
