Featured Rome Hotels

Stay in our Holiday Inn Express® Rome hotels to explore the treasures of Italy's historic capital. In the centro storico, the ancient heart of the city, you can follow in Julius Caesar's footsteps in the crumbling Forum or sip an espresso with the locals at Caffè Sant'Eustachio.

As a guest of our hotels in Rome, you'll have easy access to both ancient and modern attractions. Have your photo taken with costumed gladiators in the Colosseum, where real-life gladiators once fought to the death. The riches of the Vatican include a double dose of Michelangelo's most iconic artworks: the meltingly lovely Pietà sculpture in St. Peter's Basilica and the painted ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, where Adam stretches his fingers towards God. (Dodge the Vatican's long entry lines by visiting at lunchtime.) Entry to most of Rome's temples and churches is free.

The Eternal City's timeworn monuments anchor the city's hot spots. The streets surrounding the handsomely preserved Pantheon are filled with restaurants and boutiques. At Piazza Navona, you can admire baroque churches and fountains, then pause for a bit of prime people-watching. Everyone, from jetsetters to local students, strolls through this square. Our Rome hotels are also near Trastevere, a medieval neighborhood with a percolating nightlife. Pick a homey trattoria along the cobblestoned streets and try Roman classics like braised artichokes and creamy fettuccini Alfredo. Romans eat dinner late, so make time for an afternoon gelato break to savor some of the world's best ice cream.

Book our Holiday Inn Express Rome hotels and explore the city sights on the easy and economical Metro. For the price of a ticket, a ride on the Rome subway delivers you to ancient ruins within minutes of our hotels in Rome.

Short stay August 2016

Near the train, tube and bus. Hotel is nicely laid out. Good hot breakfast available and evening meal was excellent. Free Handy phone to use - able to access internet, FaceBook etc, make [More] international calls for free. Room cleanliness good. [Less]
Clean, tidy and friendly staff
By Rome65
I booked this for my wife's 50th birthday having chosen to use a branded hotel just in case. The area is within metro and bus services to all the major attractions 15-20 mins. The hotel room was [More] very clean and had a/c and the room was cleaned daily. The breakfast each day was very good with a great choice. The hotel had a very cosy courtyard available all day e.g. breakfast, bar drinks etc. Reception staff very accommodating and spoke very good English and helped with transport/sightseeing etc. Would defo recommend and have a look at the hotel pictures and reviews if you're thinking of staying. Nice stay thanks Holiday Inn ! [Less]
Very nice hotel with great staff.

The hotel was a little bit farther away from tourist attractions than I thought it was going to be, but it worked out great. and way cheaper than hotels in the thick of things. We walked to the end [More] of the street and hopped on a city bus that took us right to the coliseum. From there, we took a hop on hop off bus around the city and had a great day. We took a cab back to the hotel at the end of the day, that cost about 18.00 euro. The hotel arranged for a private service to take us to the airport in the morning. It was 60.00 euro to airport. We had a very nice restful time at this hotel. And I highly recommend it if you are planning a trip to Roma. I can see it would be a great meeting place for business also. [Less]

Overall a fine stay
By IHATENYY
Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Supermarket next door was convenient. Tram 14 was a breeze to get to/from main Termini station, did not mind the walk to the station and or the 25 minutes to the city [More] center. Once you get a handle on where to purchase the Tram ticket (Tobacco shop with the "T" right by the light...buy round trip so you don't need to worry about the return), you are good to go. Once you get to Termini, you nicely connect on to the Metro with the same ticket. It would be nice to have a wider variety of fresh versus canned fruit at breakfast but overall the bread/pastry selection is good (although I did have to regularly ask for the whole wheat bread to be restocked). I would not hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Bonus travel advice...spend one day and visit Ostia Antica. Need to buy another train ticket from Pyramid metro stop but it is so well worth it. Better yet, buy the 24 hour pass and the Tram, Metro and train to Ostia Antica from the Pyramid station stop is included. [Less]
