Featured Edinburgh Hotels

Whether it's business or leisure that brings you to the Scottish capital, you'll find spacious rooms, comfortable beds and modern amenities are waiting for you at all Holiday Inn Express® Edinburgh hotels.

Check in then check out this fascinating city that blends medieval castles with modern architecture and offers world-class museums, excellent shopping and dining, and festivals year-round.

Edinburgh's city center is divided into Old Town and New Town with the Princes Street Gardens directly in the middle.
Both Old Town and New Town have been honored as UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and if you choose one of our Edinburgh hotels in the city, you'll be happy to know that these areas are easily accessible by foot.

Old Town dates back to the Middle Ages and offers the big tourist draws:
the storied Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood Palace, the Royal Mile and Mary King's Close, underground tenements that date back to the 16th century.

The Georgian New Town is the commercial heart of the city and dates back to the late 18th century.

Here you'll find the city's best shopping and arts.
The National Gallery of Scotland features both masterpieces and traveling exhibitions, and if you're craving a little theatre during your Edinburgh hotel stay, you can catch a West End show at the Edinburgh Playhouse, Europe's largest theatre.

Edinburgh is also a great destination for sports enthusiasts.

Murrayfield Stadium hosts the UK's biggest rugby matches, as well as regular games for the official Edinburgh Rugby team. Edinburgh also boasts two professional football clubs (soccer to American audiences) and an American-style football team, the Edinburgh Wolves.
If you're staying at our East Edinburgh hotel, you can enjoy the big game, then head to the waterfront district for dinner and cocktails. Or skip the sports all together and enjoy a leisurely day at the beach.

Of course, this is only a small sampling of what you can expect.
Our Edinburgh hotels also make an excellent base during the summer festival season and popular Hogmanay New Year's celebration.

Stylish and comfortable hotel in a convenient location
By BotanyJo
Hotel Indigo in Edinburgh is in a great location, next to the tram stop for the airport/Princes Street and within easy walking distance to the railway station and city centre amenities. It is a [More] stylish hotel in several converted Georgian houses. The rooms, although quite small, are comfortable and distinctive. I always get a good night's sleep at Hotel Indigo and enjoy all the luxuries (Aveda toiletries, i newspapers etc). The staff are always helpful and make me feel personally welcome. [Less]

Our room was very [More] good, although just a little small but this is not a significant complaint. Breakfast quality was first class : freshly prepared an nicely cooked. The staff at this hotel were very efficient and always had a smile. Especially Amanda. She was very helpful is sorting out a theatre booking problem and provided extra pillows when I asked for them. [More] She also greeted us when we went in and out of the hotel and checked we were happy with everything. For that reason, I would revisit this hotel. [Less]
Central for city and great value too!

The Holiday Inn Express at Picardy Place is all you need for a great city break. It is comfortable, ideally placed for seeing all the sights and if you book ahead there are some real bargains to be [More] had. Despite being beside a very busy road, the secondary glazing on the windows kept all but the emergency vehicle sirens at bay. Our friends found things very much quieter in their room at the rear of the hotel, so if you are a very light sleeper you might bear that in mind. Finally, the Christmas Festival is a must, it is a great way to start Christmas, complete with the German Market stalls, big wheel, Carousel and 'Star Flyer'. Google 'Edinburgh Christmas' for more! Also on this stay it was quiet (so no excuses) at breakfast yet there was no eggs at first went back 5 mins later and still none had to ask staff to get more [Less]
