Generally the hotel stay was excellent as ever but I don't like having to register/login to use the hotel Wi-fi...I think really it should just connect as soon as your Wi-fi switches on. Also the[More] standard internet is really rather slow. Apart from that, great stay in the hotel.[Less]
No problems. Breakfast a bit limited- no bacon. Reasonably priced[Less]
Had booked a twin room but managed to swap to a double with no problem. Breakfast was great and the room was comfortable. The bed was not as comfortable as some hotels I have stayed in. The staff are[More] excellent.[Less]
The breakfast menu was very boring. Staff not prepared to alter menu for personal request eg. fried eggs instead of the scrambled eggs. Same sausages every day.[Less]
Convenient Location, Great Staff
I typically stay here a couple of times a month, and the experience is really lifted by the staff who are consistently cheery, helpful and friendly.
This hotel is great for heading into the city for[More] the evening, although for Broad Street you may have to walk a bit. Ideal if you're working in or around Colmore Square, or for travel to Snow Hill Station.
Rooms are always clean and spacious, TV channel choice good and the gym (free) is handy and sufficient for short stops.
Bar is okay with a reasonable choice of drinks, for me I'd prefer to see more choices for a cooked breakfast, but there is plenty of toast, cereal, etc for the "non-cooked" option.
Overall a good hotel that makes up for having to work away from home.[Less]
Great service & great view
The check-in was fantastic. I think it was Danielle who checked us in. She was welcoming, friendly, helpful and had a lovely smile. She showed us the evening menu, then when decided we'd go out to[More] eat as there was very little choice for gluten-free options, she gave us a map. But she drew on the map where was best to go.
Room had a view over Birmingham & we watched the fireworks - a bit surreal without the sound!
B'fast was ok & there was gluten-free bread, but found the choice of other foods a bit limited. Suggest that smaller amounts of scrambled egg are cooked & brought out more frequently or that it's cooked to order as it doesn't 'sit' well on the hot plate.
Overall, a good hotel for 1 night.[Less]
Handily placed in town
By Marco T
I thought my account needed a boost for points, so, because I was on a 6 month contract in Restitch I picked the cheapest IHG Hotel...selfish reasons, but the staff and room was spot on![Less]
Value for money

Overall a good experience.
Positives: Neat, quiet environment. Large rooms and polite staff. Breakfast, parking and free internet included.
Negatives: Shower taps not working well but not too much[More] of a problem otherwise I would have contacted staff.[Less]
Convenient, clean and comfortable
Local to the town - walking distance, business meeting room spacious and well laid out. Good nights sleep, quiet room, WiFi good as well.[Less]
