Phoenix is the cultural and economic heart of the Southwest, offering guests of our Holiday Inn Express® Phoenix hotels plenty of reasons to get out and explore this fascinating city during their stay. From rich Native American culture and historic neighborhoods to premier golf resorts and ultra-modern sports stadiums, Phoenix doesn't disappoint!
Despite being a largely car-centric city, guests of our downtown Phoenix hotels will find plenty to do and see within walking distance - or a quick light rail commute - of their hotel.
There's an amazing collection of Native American arts and crafts at the Phoenix Art Museum, and Symphony Hall hosts both the Phoenix Symphony and Arizona Opera.
Spend the day wandering around Historic Heritage Square, where you'll find beautiful, ornate turn of the century houses and quaint shops and restaurants. Be sure to check out the Rosson House Museum's collection of Victorian curiosities before heading to the Arizona Science Center for more modern-day exhibits.
Phoenix's arid climate and barren landscape may make it an odd choice for destination travelers, but you'll find the Sonoran Desert is actually one of the area's biggest draws. If you have time during your Phoenix hotel stay, hike the trails at Phoenix Mountain Park or get in a few holes at the Boulders, where rugged terrain, dramatic rock formations and frequent bobcat and coyote sightings are just a few of the challenges in store on these courses. For a truly unique experience, head to the Pueblo Grande Museum and Archaeological Park. Built on the ruins of a Hohokam village, you'll find an amazing collection of Hopi Kachina dolls and Native American pottery.
Another worthwhile venture - checking out Phoenix's celebrated sports venues. The Arizona Cardinals' University of Phoenix Stadium is perhaps the most famous with its retractable roof and rollout field, while Chase Field, home to the Diamondbacks, boasts a swimming pool right off centerfield! You can keep cool while watching the Phoenix Suns dominate the court at U.S. Airways Center, then enjoy downtown nightlife, all before returning to your Phoenix hotel.
With locations throughout the city, there's a Holiday Inn Express Phoenix hotel to suit just about every traveler's needs. So whether you are in town for business or leisure, seeking cultural immersion or just modern conveniences and attractions, we've got your covered.
Enjoyed the property very much. First time here though I'm into airport periodically for business purposes. Property laid out well. Seems isolated even thought we're siting at the corner of 44th[More] and McDowell. No complaints, only kudos. Keep up the good work[Less]
Convenient to airport and relaxing
We stayed here for a layover in Phoenix. We didn't rent a car since we were not going to be there long. This was the perfect place to stay since it had a convenient airport shuttle, a separate[More] sitting area in the rooms, and a great enclosed patio/garden area for relaxing. The pool was nice as well.[Less]
Comfortable bed and great service
this Holiday Inn was great, clean, friendly customer service, nice pool, no issues at all. Will stay again if need to be close to airport.[Less]
I like to take my two daughters and two granddaughters on a little summer getaway each year for a little girl time.. This year we decided to visit the American Girl store in Scottsdale. I looked up[More] hotels online to find which ones were located near the AG store. This hotel happened to be listed as one that was affiliated with the AG store so I called and booked the American Girl Package which included an American Girl doll bed as part of the package. This hotel has great shuttle service so we were able to book the shuttle to and from the AG store. We didn't have to worry about parking and walking in the intense heat. They also served us milk and cookies each day at 4:00 p.m., also part of the AG package. I cannot express enough how delighted they made my granddaughters feel. Thank you so much to your caring staff that made this trip a great success. We will certainly return in the future. Thanks again, Great job.[Less]
Weekend in Scottsdale

Always a good experience at this location. Early check in process was extremely easy, and front desk staff was helpful and cheerful[Less]
The people working at this hotel really raise the bar in terms of hospitality and friendliness. From Jarmilla at the front desk to Antonio and Jenny in the restaurant, the staff really made us feel[More] welcome. They are one of the main reasons we return to this hotel when in Phoenix.[Less]
Comfortable room and friendly service
This experience is what I was hoping to have - great service and a very comfortable room! Also - a reasonable rate![Less]
