Post-Deployment Relaxation
By Relaxed Airman
I stayed at this location after flying from Germany straight to SFO coming from a deployment in Afghanistan. It was a great way to rest after hours of travel. Even though I checked in later in the [More] evening, Denise was such great help. Very happy and cheerful which made the check-in process easy to deal with. I requested for the free upgrade as a Platinum member and was amazed at the room they gave us. I guess it's because it's probably the biggest room I had seen in six months. I believe I was able to sleep 13 hours straight. The bed felt great. Pillows were soft. Towels were soft. Just a great experience to come back to America to. Thank you! [Less]

New and Clean - but PARKING!
By monicamh23
Surprisingly big rooms with a good view. Everything seemed very clean and new with no problems with our guest room. We even checked in early no problem, although the Spire Elite Status might have [More] helped. Security and front desk were great. HOWEVER. Parking was a complete nightmare. First, they charge you $55 per car, per night. I get that its in the city, but that's 20 more than a self park. We only did this option because we did not want to waste any time. However, valet was not always there, they had to be called. Overall stay was great, wish we didn't have to be forced to use their parking services. [Less]
Wonderful week in San Francisco
By CarolA48
My husband and I just spent one week at the hotel on Union Square. I was a little hesitant to book it, after reading some of the less favorable reviews. However, we are IHG fans and decided to try [More] it. It is a fairly new hotel in busy, downtown San Francisco. We had no trouble locating the hotel, it is right around the corner from Powell Street. We arrived early and we were greeted warmly by Marcelo, who was able to get us into a room. Every one of the front desk staff members greeted us each time we left or entered the hotel. Our king room on the fifth floor was comfortable. We heard no noise from the bars on street level. However, since the hotel is in a busy downtown area, there is some street noise from trucks, etc. I don' t think that can be avoided. Also, there are no "views" per se except for other hotels and buildings. There was ample selection of foods at breakfast. We ate at different times and we were always able to get a seat. All of the staff was pleasant, the front desk, the housekeeping, and the breakfast servers. The location is superb for the Union Square or Moscone Center. You can walk or take BART or the muni to other parts of the city. No complaints from us. [Less]
