Recently stayed at Staybridge Suites for one night while visiting the Tampa area. The room had obviously just been cleaned when we arrived as it smelled strongly of cleaning fluids. Not the best
smell, but at least it was clean! After settling in, my girlfriend and I discussed about how it felt exactly like a small apartment and one could easily live there for a while.
Everything was provided that we might need for our stay, including small dishwasing liquid bottles, coffee, tissues, pots, pans, utensils, etc. We cooked dinner and the internet wifi was fast enough for us to watching streaming video while we ate.
The pool did not appear to be heated unfortunately, but the hot tub was great so we did use that during our stay.
Coffee was provided in the lobby although sometimes the lesser used blend was cold. Grounds were well maintained, building was in good condition, and there was a nice common area and patio with grill and furniture.
Breakfast was decent, pretty standard as far as hotel chains in this price range go. Waffle maker, scrambled eggs from liquid containers, cereals, oatmeal, fruit, cottage cheese, couple types of sausage patties, juices, coffees, pastries. Was not blown away by the breakfast, but pretty standard.
No major complaints during the stay, and a lot of positives. Would definitely stay again especially since it isn't really any more expensive than non-suite competitor hotels and somewhat cheaper than a suite at a regular hotel chain.
Would love to see the receptions moved to every night like some chains do, even if full dinner wasn't provided.
This specific Staybridge was in a pretty boring part of town and it took a while to get to decent restaurants or activities.
Staff was great. Check-in person offered a number of recommendations and I did take some of his suggestions and they turned out wonderful. All other staff was courteous and attentive.
Overall a great home away from home for 1 night and I could see it also being a great fit for those looking for multiple night stays. [Less]
