Poolside room was great.
By sml88
I took my grandkids to this HI because we I had been here before and enjoyed my stay. We went on the Thanksgiving break just to give the kids a chance to swim and relax before going back to school [More] and they had a ball. I got a poolside room and the sliding glass door at the rear of the room opening onto the pool area right by the gate and couldn't have been better. I could sit in the room or by the pool and keep an eye on the kids and could hear them if they needed help. We asked for a rollaway bed and the person who brought it was friendly and helpful, as was the front desk staff when we checked in and visited the gift shop snack area. We had a great breakfast in the restaurant which was included with the room and just had an overall great time . [Less]

Good Place to Stay

I like the hotel. Really like the staff. It is clean and the beds and pillow are comfortable. The breakfast is ok but could be better. The doors locks are terrible! It takes many tries to get the [More] door open. With all that said I will stay here again and would recommend it as a place to stay [Less]

Comfortable, clean hotel - served its purpose
By JJH76
We traveled to Henderson KY to stay at this hotel for a wedding next door at Audubon Park. We chose Holiday Inn even though it was a bit more expensive than other nearby options, but Holiday Inn had [More] an indoor pool. This paid off, as we had a full day to wait around with young kids before the 3pm wedding, so I'd say the pool (even though tiny and shallow) was worth the increased prices. We rented two rooms for two nights each for my immediate and some extended family. Our stay was comfortable and the hotel served its purpose. It was very clean (both the guest rooms and the common areas like lobby, pool and breakfast room). The front desk staff were all very nice and helpful. The breakfast was great - there were many choices, including both hot and cold food. The biscuits and gravy were a big hit with my family, as were the pancakes. There was an automatic pancake making machine - you hit a button, and a pancake flops out about 30 seconds later. The kids in the family got a real kick out of that. There were also scrambled eggs, various pastries, yogurt, cereal, etc., so you could eat a hearty breakfast before a big day. Some negative experiences: There were no rollaway beds available, so my 10 year old nephew who decided to stay with us had to sleep on the floor. We had sort of planned for this and counted on there being more than one rollaway bed in the entire hotel. The traffic is dangerous - you cannot turn left on the busy highway in front of the hotel, so if you are out and about a lot this can be problematic. The internet was down the entire weekend, from Friday evening through Sunday morning. I would have been in trouble had I needed to work and respond to emails during the weekend. Finally, the hallways were very noisy (even on the 3rd floor). As we had two young kids under age 5, this could have been rather problematic too. [Less]
