I recommend a stay at this hotel. Overall great experience. I don't sleep well, so had nothing to do with the accomodations. [Less]
A most deelightful hotel stay and surroundings
By dmadesign
We stumbled upon this gem and wish we could stay longer. The staff was delightful and accommodating. Would stay at HIE in the future as a first choice. Would love to return to the area for a longer [More] visit to enjoy all of the points of interest in the area. [Less]
Great Location-relaxing place to call home.
By Sporting Fan
This was a great stay with a little for everyone. I attended the meetings scheduled. We shopped and watched a Sporting KC game all within walking distance of the hotel. The room was awesome. We [More] needed the refrigerator to hold the left overs from the near by restaurants. Kurig in the room. Breakfast was outstanding. I can not wait to go again. I have list of things I want to do next time I am down there. [Less]

I am sorry but I wouldn't want to take my family here to stay again. I would stay if it were just myself and my wife. I found a dirty chair in our room and dirty floor, both were corrected by staff [More] immediately, thank you. staff was wonderful and very friendly. I did have a problem with the downtown parking and the additional cost of $18 for valet. they don't have a shuttle but rely on the downtown trolley to do the moving for you, you have to check their times of operation. Great location
By monte86
Great location, convenient and plenty of parking. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hotel was clean and for a building that was nearly 100 years old it had a lot of character. Very [More] comfortable! [Less]

I also highly recommend...
By K8eD
This was a spontaneous trip to KC, and my hotel choice wasn't made until after I arrived and was extremely tired late at night. I couldn't have been more blessed. I am not familiar with KC, and [More] arrived at the hotel very late at night. I felt extremely safe because you can only access the 2nd & 3rd floors with key cards in the elevators. I appreciated the Subway & 7/11 on-site. The check-in staff showed sincere friendliness to me (especially considering how late it was) as well as 2 housekeeping ladies I ran into (and unfortunately had to inconvenience due to my surprise late night check-in... they were trying to vacuum an open area, and I was dragging my luggage all over their space and over their cords, then I couldn't figure out the elevator/key card thing... - I felt terrible... They just smiled and helped me. So sweet & cute!). This hotel felt like it was brand new - smelled wonderful. My room was immaculate. I had no problem with WiFi (others apparently did - the password is on the back of the key card envelope). ... Slept like a baby. Appreciated all of the pillow options - I used them ALL!!! :) The shower was a pro & con. CON: it has either wide or narrow streams. PRO: Tall people will LOVE IT!!!! I am 5'5" and I could barely reach the head on my TIP-TOES!!! My sons are both over 6', and they would SO LOVE & APPRECIATE not having to slouch over!!!! ... We have plans to stay at another Holiday Inn Express in Fayetteville, AR, later this month - I am definitely looking forward to it now! Thank you - I will be back to this location within the year, I am sure of it! [Less]
