After three unfortunate stays at the nearby Staybridge Suites, I wisely switched to this Holiday Inn Express. This Holiday Inn Express was recently remodeled from top to bottom, and it’s a gem of a
They take great pride in keeping the common areas and rooms spotless. My wife and I could not find a flaw. They pay attention to little details like routinely throwing out the garbage and cleaning the used towels in the fitness center. How? Their maintenance and cleaning staff follow strict checklists and sign their name and note the date when completing tasks, much like a hospital.
The front desk attendants used great judgement. I reserved a room with a Jacuzzi for my wife and me to enjoy. When the Jacuzzi broke, the front desk staff upgraded us to their best room typically used by executives. When the Jacuzzi was fixed the next day, the hotel switched us with no fuss. My wife and I didn’t enjoy the Jacuzzi as much as we thought we would, so the front desk staff set aside the executive room for our next stay.
Check out the fitness center. There are numerous machines, which all new and work flawlessly, so you should never wait to use one. One side has a wall with a mirror, and there’s a separate room with free weights, yoga mats and a balance ball. It’s like a mini spa.
Breakfast was terrific. The hot food was freshly made every day; no leftovers from the previous day. The apples and bananas were as good as any you’ll find in a farmer’s market. They even carried both regular and Greek yogurt. The entire breakfast area was kept super clean.
Their front desk and maintenance staff, cleaning people and food service personnel are all friendly. Everyone paused and smiled, thanking us for staying there. This hotel hired the right personnel and trained them well. They should be proud. Every Holiday Inn Express should aspire to be as good as this one. [Less]
