Featured Columbia Hotels

Be a guest in our welcoming hotels in Columbia, the friendly, relaxed capital city of South Carolina. You're in easy reach of the award-winning Riverbanks Zoo, the historic Statehouse, and vibrant dining-and-shopping districts of Five Points and Vista.

It's a short drive downtown from our central Columbia hotels to the South Carolina Statehouse, its mossy green lawn shaded by fragrant magnolia trees-bronze stars mark the spots where cannonballs landed during General Sherman's fiery Civil War "march to the sea." Slithery snakes and giant tortoises inhabit the Riverbanks Zoo, along with 2,000 other wild critters. Sunbathe on the rocks above the mild but frothy rapids of the Saluda River, directly behind the zoo.

Join the brigades of backpacked students strolling the tree-shaded urban campus of the University of South Carolina, ringed with lively coffee shops and cafes. Or head out from our Columbia hotels and do as the natives do: spend an evening dining and drinking in the Five Points neighborhood or the riverside Vista district-both hopping with good-value international restaurants and rollicking music clubs. If it's classic Southern food you crave, head to a local barbecue joint for lip-smacking South Carolina barbecue washed down with sudsy Dixie beer.

Unwind and absorb the region's leisurely pace just minutes from our Columbia hotels in the city's riverside parks, where you can park yourself under a live oak fringed with Spanish moss and dream of the Old South-all for free, of course. Stay at our Holiday Inn Express® hotels in Columbia for four seasons of down-home pleasures, whether you're tucking into an old-fashioned corndog at the State Fair or sipping cocktails on a balmy evening of moonlight and magnolias.

Excellent Service
By GLSES
Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable, Fitness area is ok but small and right off the lobby, The service was excellent, An example - Breakfast starts at 6:00 am, I had to leave before this [More] for my work so the night before I called the front desk and asked if anything would be available around 5:30. The desk told me they would make the morning staff aware of this and try to have some cold food available, When I went to breakfast the next morning both cold and hot food was ready for me. Great way to start the day. [Less]

A very positive stay!
By RichAH
The staff which served us at the hotel were among the best I have encountered. The woman at the front desk was friendly and efficient . The breakfast was very good and even included gluten free [More] bagels and muffins. The woman in charge of the breakfast area was outstanding. She greeted us with a big smile and was super friendly. She efficiently cleared away plates and trash as if we were in a nice restaurant and kept the tables and serving area clean and orderly. Our room was quiet even though we were on the highway side. Nice, warm and friendly atmosphere
By Greg28768
This is a really nice and comfortable place to stay. There is a really good restaurant just across the parking lot from the hotel. The only downside to staying here are really minor, one being that [More] it's easy to turn around before you reach the hotel because it is SOMEWHAT hidden. Simply turn at the Holiday Inn Express sign, go to the end of the road then turn right, this will lead into the parking lot. Also, the parking is somewhat tight here. I had a 28 foot trailer and had a little trouble finding a place to park it. But overall this is a great place to stay. [Less]
Pleasant Surprise
By sasaa
This hotel is just off Route 77 on the outskirts of Columbia, SC. It was bright, clean and spacious. The front desk staff were excellent. The bed was comfortable. The hotel is well decorated and was [More] recently renovated and that gives it a new clean and modern look. The breakfast was very good with many choices and the lady tending to breakfast was very, very attentive, friendly, happy and organized. The hotel was a pleasant surprise after reading a few negative comments and it was a great choice for our stay. Places to eat close by. Would definitely stay there again. [Less]
