Featured North Charleston Hotels

Experience the antebellum charm of Historic Charleston when you stay in our Holiday Inn Express® North Charleston hotels. Wander cobblestoned streets past mansions and perfumed gardens, and sample briny oysters in one of the city's casual, welcoming oyster bars.

Our hotels in North Charleston, South Carolina, are close to the city's historic district and Low Country plantations. Book a stay in our North Charleston hotels to visit Fort Sumter, where the first shot of the Civil War was fired in 1861. The fort's serene harbor-side setting belies its volatile past, with ornate mansions in pastel hues opposite. One of the most atmospheric and economical ways to take in the sheer volume of the city's historic architecture is on a leisurely horse-drawn carriage ride. To get a real feel for plantation life, 1800s-style, head outside the city limits to Boone Hall Plantation. The plantation's moss-draped Avenue of Oaks starred in background shots in "Gone with the Wind."

Taste the bounty of the Low Country when you stay in our North Charleston hotels, whether she-crab soup, sausage and shrimp perloo (with rice) or hoppin' John (seasoned rice and peas). Many restaurants have regular cool-weather oyster roasts, where juicy oysters are cooked over an open fire until they sizzle and pop. North Charleston is a shopping mecca; bargain hunters can head out from our North Charleston hotels to outlets like nearby Tanger Outlet Center. The North Charleston Coliseum is the city's top venue for musical performances and Broadway shows.

Book a stay at our North Charleston hotels and fall in love with this South Carolina coastal city, cobblestoned and scented with jasmine and looking much like it did two centuries ago.

Relaxing Get-away
By g-grammy
This was one of the best stays we've had. Very quiet atmosphere and sleeping quality. Nice dark room void of noise. Plenty of places to eat or walk in the area. [Less]
Wonderful experience
This is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The only problem is the breakfast has nothing for people that are on a gluten free diet. I daughter is 12 and there was nothing gluten free. [More] Please offer some options for people that struggle with gluten sensitivity. [Less]
Great service.

Great Location
By Suelynn1720
This hotel is located in Mt. Pleasant and is just across the river from Charleston. There is a restaurant/bar on site, which is very convenient for guests. The room prices are very affordable when [More] compared to Charleston, and Mt. Pleasant is a beautiful city. There were plenty of easy-to-drive-to restaurants nearby. Mt. Pleasant has a beautiful historic area that is close by. We enjoyed seeing Boone Hall Plantation as well. When traveling to Charleston, start at the Visitor's Center (easy access from the Ashley River bridge), and book a 90-minute historic tour. This was a great way to see the sights! Be sure to see Fort Sumter, downtown Charleston, and Drayton Hall. [Less]
Great hotel, worth the stay
By eddiesupply
I enjoyed my stay, other than the fire alarm test and ethernet cable running right across from my room. During the day it was noisey, but I understand as this is routine maintenance and saftey that [More] need to be tested. I will definitely stay here again, just please make sure all the upgrades and test are done. :) My biggest complaint, more so than the noise, was actually the air conditioning, it wasn't as cool as i've come to expect in hotels. It was working properly however, which is why I didn't call it in. Also the bathroom shower/tub is a bit outdated and showing its age. However, it didn't bother me, because the staff, and everything else was perfect. [Less]

girls weekend

My first time in Charleston and I have to say it was amazing! The location was super convenient to EVERYTHING! King street was up the block where you can find some amazing restaurants and nightlife. [More] Also great street to walk down when you have time during the day – further down has some awesome shopping (typical stores like Forever 21, vineyard vins, urban but also has some local shops) The location also works well If you wanted to say go to other areas like near The Battery – the uber is not more than $15. When heading to Charleston we somewhat had a plan but we actually got some really great recommendations for things to do and places to eat from the valet – Casen and Ben! (side note: super awesome that this hotel has a valet, you don’t even really need to touch your car all weekend) The bar as little pre-dinner/post dinner spot was great as well! Absolutely loved this hotel! My only negative would be the pool area is super small – and by late afternoon it’s completely shaded [Less]
