Our Plano hotels are near historic downtown, where simple turn-of-the-century storefronts enjoy new life as restaurants and specialty shops. An original Texas Electric Railway car from 1908 rests in the Interurban Railway Museum in downtown Haggard Park. Tall ash, live oaks and cedar elm trees line the trails at the Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary, a short drive from our hotels in Plano. The forests and prairies of this 289-acre preserve are the perfect stopover for hundreds of species of migratory birds, including snow geese, white ibis and even bald eagles.

Our hotels in Plano are near the Shops at Legacy mall, which draws Dallas shoppers with fashion boutiques and a movie theater. Thai, Italian, Japanese, Mexican-you'll find a variety of cuisines in the mall's cafes and bistros. In downtown Plano, local antiques and trendy clothing shops are mixed in with tea rooms, Italian eateries and cozy pubs.

Choose our Holiday Inn Express hotels in Plano to be a short drive from Dallas. See the window where Lee Harvey Oswald hid with his rifle and shot President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 at the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Admire Rodin bronze sculptures and colorful Miró statues at the Nasher Sculpture Museum. With a Dallas night out, you can dance a two-step during country music concerts at Gilley's Dallas bar and venue.

Improvements ...

My overall stay was great, but there are (2) areas that need improvement. The shower head was not clean (old and looked moldy) and there was no HD TV. TV reception was old technology. Other than [More] that, great stay and great hotel ... [Less]

Great Experience with one exception
By DobieOne
My first impression of my room at Candlewood was great. It was clean and well appointed. The bed was very soft as were the pillows. If you need a firm mattress beware and if you don't like extra soft [More] pillows, bring your own. I loved the little kitchen and the next time I stay there, I might bring some food. Before I retired, I traveled extensively in my line of work. I would have loved to have a place to stay like the Candlewood Suites. The only thing I didn't like was the bathroom. The showerhead looked and performed like something from the 1950’s, and had very low water pressure/flow. The shower curtain rod is rounded for a curved tub but the tub is not rounded. This caused water to get on the bathroom floor. Additionally, there was no heater in the bathroom which would have been a big issue had it not been so warm outside. [Less]

Great Staff!! Professional and couteous!
By spencjr
I am so thankful to the staff and IHG for accommodating me during a difficult time. Understanding my circumstance, they worked diligently to provide a room for me even though the hotel was full for [More] the night. When a cancellation they were prompt in contacting me and making arrangements for me. The entire staff was warm, caring and willing to assist in any way possible. Thank you IHG staff for all you do, and I look forward to visiting with you on my next stay. RJSpencer [Less]
Room decoration
By Harry Retired
(Introductory note: During this trip we stayed at three separate Holiday Inn properties: 2 in Dallas and one in Lafayette LA. The following info applied to all three) The rooms were altogether [More] comfortable and clean and well appointed..... except that without exception the lighting was insufficient. If you were quite close to one of the fixtures, you could read something comfortably. But if you were more than five feet away from the fixtures (which probably equates to 90% of the suite's square footage) the lighting was more "dim" than "adequate". I was amazed that there was a nice easy chair in one corner of the room, but the nearest two fixtures were each more than ten feet away. "Overall light level" was a consistent insuffiency, and will be remembered in future lodging choices. [Less]
Enjoyed our overall stay
By Gibbs03
The staff was friendly and willing to help. Each one of them went out their way to ensure our visit was pleasant. The beds were comfortable and the overall room was clean. The only issue we had was [More] with the bathtub drain not working properly. We didn't bring this up to the holiday staff because we were rushing to leave the hotel to get to our destination. I'm sure they would have addressed it if we would have informed them. My only thought was house keeping should have noticed the issue to have it addressed. Despite this issue we would stay at Holiday Inn again. [Less]
