Featured Williamsburg Hotels

Colonial America lives and breathes in the beautifully restored and re-created 18th-century city of Williamsburg. Stay in our Holiday Inn Express® Williamsburg hotels and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and flavors of 1770s America.

The heart of Colonial Williamsburg's 300-acre Historic Area is a living-history village where the industry of colonial life is re-enacted on a daily basis. Listen for musket shots in the distance as horse-drawn carriages clip-clop through cobblestone streets. Skilled tradesmen forge iron in the Blacksmith Shop and bind books in the Printing Office. The impressive brick Capitol building lies at the end of Duke of Gloucester Street; this is a likely spot to see revolutionary "firebrands" engaging in passionate street-theater scenes. Festive balls were held in the opulent Governor's Palace before the British were driven out for good in 1775. From our Williamsburg hotels, it's a short drive to Jamestown, America's first permanent English settlement, and the Yorktown Battlefield.

Enjoy a colonial-style meal in one of the restored taverns in the Historic Area, a short drive from our hotels in Williamsburg. At Kings Arms, Chownings or Shields taverns, sample such hearty 18th-century fare as meat pies and braised venison. Drink it down with a stout ale, much like the ones favored by the founding fathers. You can take home the beautiful crafts you see made in the shops, from handcrafted leather to willow baskets. Or hit the city's numerous outlet shops near our Williamsburg hotels, the biggest of which is Williamsburg Premium Outlets. You can spend the morning in an 18th-century bubble and then shop the afternoon away on 21st-century bargains.

Book a stay in our Williamsburg hotels and travel back to a pivotal time in American history, when the country was in its infancy and revolution was in the air.

Wonderful Stay
By Purple31
There were 2 couples in our party and we were there to visit family stationed at Fort Eustis. We shared a 2 bedroom/2 bath - and it worked out great! The room had everything we needed - we only wish [More] we could have stayed longer to take advantage of all of the extra amenities like the pool, workout room, bowling alley, miniature golf course, etc. [Less]
Excellent Room

I enjoyed the stay however, the 2nd bedroom has twin beds and not so good if traveling with another couple. The resort has a lot of amenities to offer for a great price. [Less]

Excellent stay, except for wifi, breakfast not complimentary
By AndreaDVM
Called a day ahead to see if there was any chance we could check in early. Gentleman I spoke to was very nice and said he would make a note on my reservation. When I arrived at 12:30 my room was [More] ready. All areas of hotel very clean. Looked either new or recently renovated. Only complaint is the wifi: easy to connect to, but extremely slow; really couldn't do anything so I had to use my own data. Also the website listed complimentary breakfast as an amenity, but apparently you have to purchase an increased rate for included breakfast, or pay when you go which is what I did. Either way breakfast is not complimentary. The breakfast was very good however and there was a waitress that was very nice, brought drinks, etc. so I felt inclined to leave a tip and would've done this even if my breakfast had been included in the rate. Great Choice in Newport News
By Bobby D - Richmond
Great Choice in Newport News We stay here a few times a year or more to visit family and visit the area. This continues to be a great choice for us and we are always impressed with the friendliness [More] and engagement of the staff. Two team members who always provide stand out service and a great customer experience are Jalesa at the Front Desk and GM David. They are always willing to meet a need or request, they remember us by face and welcome us back. This is always very much appreciated. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable and we sometimes have time to use the nice indoor pool. We say often that it is the staff that make or break a hotel. The staff here, again especially Jalesa and David, help make this a great choice. The hotel is also very convenient to all the activities and is just off 64. The only thing the hotel needs is to reopen a good quality broad restaurant. This has been lacking since Fiorello’s closed. To be fair there are plenty of good restaurants in the area, but it is convenient to have a good non-cookie cutter restaurant on site like Fiorello’s was. While there has been a restaurant on site in the meantime it does not reach the quality that was there before. The good news is the GM David tells me they are weeks away from a revamped restaurant that should be greatly improved! We cannot wait to try it out hopefully next time we are in town. Overall great location for your next stay in Newport News [Less]

Great Experience
By red236
Had a great experience here. The rooms are clean and up to date. The only negative would be the price of the room...I think it was a little high based on the location and the time of year. Otherwise, [More] we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend. [Less]
