Featured Williamsburg Hotels

Colonial America lives and breathes in the beautifully restored and re-created 18th-century city of Williamsburg. Stay in our Holiday Inn Express® Williamsburg hotels and immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and flavors of 1770s America.

The heart of Colonial Williamsburg's 300-acre Historic Area is a living-history village where the industry of colonial life is re-enacted on a daily basis. Listen for musket shots in the distance as horse-drawn carriages clip-clop through cobblestone streets. Skilled tradesmen forge iron in the Blacksmith Shop and bind books in the Printing Office. The impressive brick Capitol building lies at the end of Duke of Gloucester Street; this is a likely spot to see revolutionary "firebrands" engaging in passionate street-theater scenes. Festive balls were held in the opulent Governor's Palace before the British were driven out for good in 1775. From our Williamsburg hotels, it's a short drive to Jamestown, America's first permanent English settlement, and the Yorktown Battlefield.

Enjoy a colonial-style meal in one of the restored taverns in the Historic Area, a short drive from our hotels in Williamsburg. At Kings Arms, Chownings or Shields taverns, sample such hearty 18th-century fare as meat pies and braised venison. Drink it down with a stout ale, much like the ones favored by the founding fathers. You can take home the beautiful crafts you see made in the shops, from handcrafted leather to willow baskets. Or hit the city's numerous outlet shops near our Williamsburg hotels, the biggest of which is Williamsburg Premium Outlets. You can spend the morning in an 18th-century bubble and then shop the afternoon away on 21st-century bargains.

Book a stay in our Williamsburg hotels and travel back to a pivotal time in American history, when the country was in its infancy and revolution was in the air.

Quick Weekend Getaway
By MedicMatt
Visited Williamsburg for a short weekend stay and only needed the room for one night. Location is right on Route 60 and is very convenient to Williamsburg, Yorktown and Jamestown. Front Desk [More] staff (Jan) was splendid. She was friendly, accommodating, and funny. She greeted my wife and I warmly and as Spire Elite members, checked us in quickly and had us up to our room within moments of arrival. The property has recently undergone a renovation and still has a very fresh contemporary vibe to it. The lobby is large, warm, and nicely appointed. The dark wood tones with the bright lights and shiny tile back-splashes add a nice pop of color and vibrant feel to the common areas. The room was well a nicely appointed suite with separate bedroom and living areas, both with TV's. A smart climate control system that worked well and kept the room at the desired temp with no issues at all. The bathroom was big, clean, and bright. I do wish that the door to the bathroom opened outwardly instead of in as there is no light in the shower itself and with the door open the majority of the light is blocked by it. The door to the restroom was kept open when showering as there is minimal ventilation to the area without it being open so steam rapidly accumulates. Parking is ample with most of it being in the rear of the property, but both front and rear areas were very well lit at night for safety and security reasons. Check-out was a snap, bill prints around 2am and if there are no pending charges all is settled before you even reach the front desk. Again the desk staff were friendly on our departure and truly cared when they asked if we had a pleasant stay. We will most certainly be back if in the area. [Less]

The location was good. Close to the main shopping areas such as the Pottery, Premium outlet stores and Walmart. Enough space for children to play in the room without feeling cramped. Rooms were [More] clean. High on my list [Less]
perfect for our family
By Elsa579
The unit was well appointed, everything worked well - except for the hairdrier in my bathroom (but I was able to use the one in the kids bathroom). It was clean and comfortable. The pools were great. [More] At this time of year (April) it would have been nice if one of the outdoor pools was heated, but it was okay to get refreshed. Liked the club house area - staff friendly, nicely stocked.
