I normally stay at Holiday Inn Express when I travel. The buildings are always clean and up to date. The service is very friendly and the breakfast is awesome. The night shuttle driver is always very friendly and remembers us even though I only stopped in 5 times over the past 3 years. My only complaint over all of my stays was the day shuttle this time. The shuttle service apparently starts at 3 but for my past visits they were always happy to make a special trip. When they couldn't this time because "someone called in" it was no big deal as it seemed like a favor before and they called a cab for me. Shortly after another customer complained that they needed a ride and the shuttle was made available to them. As I was standing right there waiting for my taxi, I don't know why they didn't offer me a ride as well or an explanation. At any rate the normal evening driver was on and as always provided fast and friendly service. Overall, another great experience.

The location of this hotel to my conference site was convenient. Parking was tight but doable. Check-in and check-out was professional and courteous. Hotel seemed clean and private. There was no scenic view from my room window; only a grey dismal highway. I know that couldn't be helped but it caused me to keep my curtains drawn. The room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. The breakfast was not good at all and didn't taste like anything I knew with taste. In fact, the morning juices were very watered down. So, I had watered juice and something warm in my stomach before I left for my conference that morning. I decided not to take the shuttle. Having grown up in NYC, I did feel safe. Otherwise, my stay was O.K.

A fine hotel if you wish to access downtown Albany. Roads getting around are tricky though.

I stayed for the first time at the Holiday Inn Express, The room was quiet (even though it is near the expressway) and clean. I got a great night's sleep!

I was booked into this hotel for a 4 night stay by my organization for a conference that was held at another site. The setting of the hotel is next to the bus station in an expanse of concrete, under the freeway and surrounded by on and off-ramps. The problems I encountered were a room far too hot and no apparent control of climate from the thermostat, and a staff that could not fix the problem other than to suggest I open the window to the outside air where ambient temps were 15-30 during my stay. this actually turned out to be the best suggestion, although I still woke in a sweat several times per night. my non smoking room was situated on a floor that reeked of cigarette smoke. the hot offerings on the breakfast buffet were pretty bad, but the instant oatmeal was satisfying. the internet was amazingly slow. I used an online internet speed test several times, and found download speeds at 1.5 megabits consistently. If I had booked this myself and it wouldnt have been a real problem for me to ask my organization to move me somewhere else, I would have left the first night.
