We should have complained when we were assigned a room as far as you can possible get from the elevators, but we didn't. However, we did complain (several times) when that room remained at about the same temperature as it was outdoors. At one point the young "manager" came to our room, seriously studied the fake thermostat on the wall and informed us that the heating system was working properly. Maybe it was down in the lobby, and we seriously considered going down there and sleeping, but once we got in bed under the comforter we were able to make it through the long nights. During the days we were "out and about" on the streets and we lingered over dinner each night because we dreaded going back to our cold room.
I am a long-time customer and I have stayed at IHG locations that run the entire spectrum. In fact, when we left here we went to another Holiday Inn Express in Frankfurt, Germany where the rooms were nice and warm. The Holiday Inn Express in Arnhem is a very nice facility; however, they made two mistakes: (1) never assign your oldest guests the farthest room in the entire hotel, and (2) don't try to freeze them to death -- especially not if one of them is a "Top Contributor" to a well known travel advisory site. (Sorry kids.)

Room and service upon arrival was satisfied. Breakfast choices were wery average -pity. Furthermore, I had to make few phone calls and bill came up just for those calls at EUR80. That was steal I must admit! I should have been charged for it no more then EUR15 which would be standard calls charge covered and premium paid but instead paid equivalent of 2 days stay. If I would have known I'd get new cell phone for EUR20.

Nachdem wir das Hotel endlich gefunden hatten (es fehlten Hinweisschider oder eine Hotelroute) war alles gut.
