The front desk at this hotel were excellent. In fact, Chris and the front desk staff were extremely attentive, from arranging the complimentary shuttle to the wakeup call. The breakfast included is a wonderful bonus. the room was extremely clean. Great stay!

So upon returning to the hotel one evening, my wife and I discovered our keys did not work, after 2 trips to the front desk, they still did not work. So they sent up Maintenance and he told us the battery in the door must have died, and he would give us keys to another room for the night, and not to worry because they would break into our room sometime tomorrow, to retrieve our belongings. LOL excuse me? Sometime tomorrow? I explained that not only did my 10 month old son need his pack n play (crib) my daughter needed her medicine in the fridge, and we were sweaty/sandy from the beach and no change of clothes. Only after I explained to him, that either he was going to open the door to our room or I was, did he make a call and had someone come in to open it. We waited approx 30 min and a very nice gentlemen came in from being off work to "break into" the room. Not sure if he was a mgr or maint, but he got in, we moved all our items to the new room (not an upgrade mind you, just different) and he offered to give us a discount on our bill. I explained that was appreciated, but I was staying on points, so he said he would add the points back onto our account for the night. Great, more than I could ask for, I understand stuff happens. Upon checking out 3 days later, I had heard nothing about extra or refunded points, so I asked the front desk. The young lady there said it was too much to look through, and she would just add 500 points to our account. Really 500 points? I get that for walking into a HIE! First, the original Maint guy was out of line telling us to wait until tomorrow to get us our belongings, 2nd if your going to offer a refund of points, actually refund my points. 3rd, I still have yet to ANY points from said hotel, my original 500 welcome points, my refunded points, or the front desks, "I'll just add 500 points instead of look it up" points. I am not upset that the battery in the door died, I get it can happen. My first time in 10 years at IHG, but ok. I am upset on how it was handled from the start, and no follow through. I realize not everyone has kids, but an small child can not sleep in regular bed, and my other child needed her meds, and waiting till the next day was unacceptable. And While the offer of points refunded was appreciated, it apparently was just an offer as I have yet to receive any such refund of points.

Front desk was very accommodating when I asked to be moved to the rear of building (closer to dog walking area). They also helped with finding a restaurant and other amenities.
