Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cold room. Quite noisy. Food average. Staff great. The room was the coldest we have ever had to occupy. The heating was inadequate and insufficient bedding to get warm at night. Due to the position of the room there was a lot of coming and going from the other guests. Food was average. Breakfast taken at 9.30 am with only warm food available and lots of empty dishes waiting to be filled. Many tables had dirty plates waiting to be cleared. The staff were excellent but it was obvious there was insufficient personnel to cope. April 25, 2016

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by A very mixed experience, depending on the mood of staff The best thing about this stay was the room - it seemed to have a new bed in it and I had an amazing sleep during a very busy work trip. The room was also very quiet and was well insulated from the road outside. However, the curtains seemed to be too small for the window and were far from 'blackout' curtains - the room became very bright very early in the morning even with the curtains fully drawn. The service during this stay overall was very disappointing. One member of staff was very kind and printed out some work documents I had left at home - this was a great help and I was very grateful. However, every other member of staff was uniformly miserable and unsmiling. When I checked in the member of staff didn't smile or even say hello. All they said was, "Surname?" Despite being alone in the bar on an early Saturday evening, it took over 5 minutes to be served because one member of staff shut himself in the office whenever he finished serving someone and a second member of staff spent his shift standing outside of the entrance playing on his phone and smoking. Neither seemed bothered about this, although they did offer a basic "sorry for the wait". The attitude of the second member of staff was very poor. The bar had been busy and there were a lot of dirty glasses on tables in the area. Instead of clearing this up, he returned outside to smoke. At one point he came into the dining area and sat at a clean table and played on his phone for over 20 minutes. In full uniform and on duty this was totally unacceptable and gave a low impression. I wanted a second glass of wine but he said they had no clean glasses so I'd have to reuse my first glass - this was because the staff on duty ignored all of the dirty glasses around the bar area. I wanted to mention this at checkout but that member of staff had a similar attitude - no smile, no warmth and they didn't ask how my stay was. They simply said, "You have nothing to pay." Definitely not a welcoming IHG experience, I have asked my employer to avoid this property in future. April 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent hotel in good location We stayed two nights in this hotel because my daughter was taking part in the Brighton Marathon. We had 3 rooms booked for 6 of us. The hotel was easy to find and had plenty of parking. Parking was free. The nearest railway station was a ten minute walk from the hotel. The guest room was comfortable but basic. Tea and coffee making facilities were supplied. We found the bed to be huge but very hard, resulting in a poor night's sleep as my arms and hands went numb. I had to resort to tablets to enable a better sleep the 2nd night! Breakfast was basic, although there was a reasonable choice of cereals and hot foods such as porridge, sausages and egg, but no bacon. I tried to get some fruit juice both mornings, but got water instead! There is a Harvester pub on the same site, so we ate there the first night. That was good with a very good choice. April 18, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good Room Terrible Breakfast We stayed here the night before we went away, and stay here regularly, the room was just perfect as always, except for not having enough pillows, which we had e-mailed about and asked for extra in the room, which weren't there on arrival, a good night sleep, but come the morning, we went to Breakfast, first no cups for a hot drink, which arrived after 5-10 mins , then no orange or apple juice, this had run out completely and they had no more of, I wouldn't had minded if they were busy but there was no more than 10-12 people in the room, the breakfast was basic, cereal, hot selection, toast etc., which if fine and enough for a quick stock up before heading for the airport, I hope this all gets rectified before our next stay in 14 weeks time. However, at breakfast time there is often a lack of items such as cups, porridge and it is not replenished rapidly. More than once I had to leave without having any breakfast which was disappointing. Overall the hotel is fine for my needs. April 12, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Average hotel Not the best hotel of the franchise, a bit run down but luckily they're renewing it. Breakfast was a bit poor, food quality was not the best. Was not recognized as a IHG member and not offered a complimentary drink / points. Room was ok, a bit noisy because it was next to the stair's door and it needed to be lubricated.
