Typisches Hotel für Geschäftsleute. Die Ausstattung ist zwar auf das Nötige oprimiert; dafür ist das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis exzelent, die Mitarbeiter sind freundlich und kompetent, die Zimmer sind sauber, die Lage ist - auch ohne Auto - bestens, mit Auto angeschlossene Tiefgarage.
Nutze das Hotel seit vielen Jahren, früher auch für Tagungsgäste. Stets (!) problemlos.

The stay was verry good, the rooms are clean the personal is verry friendly I was welcom as an Priority Club Platin Member.

We had an excellent stay in this hotel. Perfect was the near to the city center. The hotel was clean and the service good.

Das Zimmer war modern und in einem guten Zustand. Das Hotel ist für einen kurzfristigen Aufenthalt in Essen gut geeignet.

Hotel itself is good value for the money. Rooms are quiet and newly renovated and even have a safe wjich I have not seen in HIX properties before.
Really annoying were the discussions with the front desk staff. When checking in the lady tried to charge me twice the money I already paid for my 2 nights stay (prepaid rate). Had to argue for long time that the rate is prepaid.
When checking out they tried to charge me again. Had to argue again and (another) lady changed it finally without one word of excuse or anything friendly.

Good clean comfortable room, friendly staff. Location is reasonable, 10 - 15 minute walk to centre of town.
Just a pity breakfast during the week is until 10am, that's a bit early for me - Im a slow starter, would be nice if it was available later, but its not a big issue and would stay again.

The hotel location is excellent if you're planning to attend an event at the Colosseum Theater, which is just a 5 min. walk away. There's also a tube station in working distance, as well as the Mongo's Restaurant and a shopping mall (Limbecker Platz). The hotel itself looks very friendly, comfortable and inviting, the room was good for 2 - space is limited if you're booking it for 3-4 people, at least the one we had. We appreciated that there was a kettle for tea & coffee.
