We chose this hotel for the location - next to airport and cruise port. We did not expect it to be so well staffed. They knew exactly what we needed and were very gracious.
The restaurant was excellent. I highly recommend the key lime pie!!
We will stay there again next time we cruise!

Anyone who stays here needs to understand that this hotel is not near any food establisments nor shopping locations it is located in a run down part of Fort lauderdale. The web site says that the Heidelberg house was a 15 minute walk, nonsense. It was more than 25 minutes. it took me nearly 15 mintues to the Walgreens walking at a comfortable pace which is on its way which is 3/4 of the way there. There is a CVS in the opposite direction which is only a 10 minute walk. The onsite Restaraunt was very nice but a bit pricey. selection was limited the bar was very good and priced appropirately. They have a small retail/convenience store but lack the necessary esstentials unless you want to choose from 20 different thank you cards and ribbons. there was not emergency sew kit, very limited battery selection, no luggage tags or tavel assecories. there was a very large selection of snack foods, beer, candy, ice cream, ramen noodles not in the bowl type (so bring a bowl if you want to eat that) and souvuniers. The front counter was very nice and friendly. they have transportation to the port of everglades for a fee available and they do have Airport pick up to the hotel. Besides the location and the being so far away from eating establishments I would not stay ther if I were to stay at Fort lauderdale for an extended duration, the ransporation costs would kill you unless you have a car.

Upon our arrival, we were greater by several very nice hotel employees. The shuttle from the airport was easy and free so it made the start of this trip enjoyable.

We needed a place close to the airport where we could relax and the kids could swim after a long drive. The kids loved the 5th floor pool and the best part was that it was open 24 hours. The staff was very accomodating, going out of their way to make us comfortable and happy.

We got off our cruise and went to the Crowne Plaza to stay for the day. It was very convenient because it was close to the cruise port and also provided a free shuttle to the airport. We had elderly parents with us and the staff was very accomodating and eager to please us, especially Walter at the front desk. I found the hotel to be spotless, very refreshing and great comfortable rooms. The restaurant there was great also. The food was excellent and there was a nice pool area also. So we had a wonderful day at the Crowne plaza and hope to go back soon...

Personnel were very quick with service. Out stay was enhanced by the on site restaurant, lounge. The pool area and patio were large and comfortable. An extra night was efficiently afforded us when requested. All in all a great experience. The hotel and rooms were immaculate and impressive.

We stayed for a day (8 AM to 2 PM) upon return from a cruise and prior to our flight home. We called to ensure how the hotel wanted us to book the room, They told us to make the reservation for the night before our arrival, with a notation that we would arrive after midnight, which is what we did.
Upon arrival, the front desk person, Walter, was incredibly unpleasant. Rather than greeting us and taking the time to find out what our arrangement was, Walter kept insisting - rudely - that registration was not until 3 PM. I had to explain multiple times that yes, we had made our reservation as per their instructions, which turned out to be correct. We were ultimately given our room on the 11th floor, only to discover that the elevators were not really working. The power went out 5 times which we were there...which required us to walk up to the 11th floor from the 5th after lunch, and to bump our suitcases all the way down to the ground floor to check out. The staff was not apologetic about their behavior, nor about the problems in the hotel. We were NOT impressed.
I observed the front desk staff being rude to other arriving guests as well. My Priority Club status was not acknowledged. This location is excellent for people who are coming or going from a cruise...but they need a SERIOUS retraining of their front desk staff, and perhaps a complete work-over of their electrical system and elevators.

The room was infested with ants and they blamed it on us spilling something in the room. The only trouble with that was that we just arrived in the room. Sorry I will never stay there again.

Stayed here prior to our cruise. The room was great, front desk was so very helpful with transfers and shuttles. The food was really outstanding. I normally don't expect very good food at a hotel and was so very surprised! This was a wonderful 'kick-off' to our vacation. Will definitely be back.

Coming from a family in the hotel business, I have learned to be critical of other hotels. This particular hotel was easy to locate and the staff on both shifts were very helpful and attentive. The Entire hotel was clean, amenities were well marked and the room was well appointed and comfortable. The shuttle service to the airport was on time and much appreciated.
The restaurant staff for breakfast were not friendly or attentive. The food was standard breakfast fare. I wish the staff were more aware of a travelers sensitive timing during breakfast as they have a short window of opportunity to catch flights and attend meetings.
Overall, a very pleasant experience here and would gladly stay again or reccomend to others.

My overall experience was great and this is my hotel of choice everytime I travel to the Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood area.
I wanted to make sure I thank Aleena at the front desk for her excellent customer service. She goes above and beyond, with a smile on her face. Thanks Aleena for making my stay that much better!

The hotel is located near the Everglades port but in an industrial area with no sites within walking distance. The staff was very freindly and helpful. The room was clean but over priced for the location. I do not recommend using their shuttle service to the port. It was very disorganized and overbooked. It showed up 15 minutes late and even though we were among the earliest in line to board the shuttle, We ended up not getting on due to the inept personnel running the boarding process. They promised a second shuttle but after another 20 minutes of waiting, I asked for a refund. The hotel graciously refunded our money and took us to the pier by the hotel shuttle. As a result we were over 90 minutes late getting to the port which caused an additional delay of over an hour getting onto the boat.

We spent a pre-cruise evening at the Crowne Plaza Ft. Lauderdale Airport/Cruise Port and it is very convenient to the airport, port, and major highways. In addition they allowed us to park our car for the duration of the cruise at their standard rate which is lower than Port Everglades rates. We did not use their shuttle service for the airport or cruise terminal, but those services are available.
There are not many dining options nearby so if you do not have a car you will be stuck with the hotel restaurant, a cab ride, or a bit of a walk. All in all a very convenient and comfortable place to stay.

I thought that being a platinum rewards member meant something to Holiday Inn. In fact, I usually choose Holiday Inn's to stay on business/vacations to get the perks given to top reward members. The Crowne Plaza was the worst stay at any Hoilday Inn chain that I have stayed. We waited 1 hour for a "free shuttle" pickup at the airport. The front desk clerk kept telling me that our driver was picking up other passengers. Not true. Our driver told us that he just started his shift and we were the only pick up. Having been travelling since 2:00am, this was a stressful wait, especially since travelling with a child and elderly parent. Upon check in, I was told that their were no rooms until check in at 3:00pm. We slept in the lobby until, I believe, a manager thought we were hobos and the front desk clerk miraculously found us a room around 11:30am. We were exhausted. On top of that, I paid $10/tax more for a room with a sleeper bed for our son. I didnt' get that room. If I wanted that room, I was to wait until the 3:00pm check in time. Needless to say, we took the room given to us at 11:30am. I want my $10 back! The room was adequate and the breakfast really expensive at $50 for 3 of us. I would never stay at this Crowne Plaza again. I also have to think twice about staying at Hoilday Inn's for the "rewards". I think we were given a bottle of water and some chips. Big deal.

We arrived early at 10.30 a.m. expecting to wait for our room until 3.30, however we were given one straight away, this was really appreciated. We found the staff great, good food, lovely comfortable room. Bus on time for our cruise. Would stay there again and would certainly recomend this to anyone.

The room was clean and comfortable. After getting instructions on how to use the new style key card from the guy next door, and then having to go back to the desk to get the key re-charged so that it would work, everything went well. I found the staff friendly and helpful.

I spent a week trying to book 11 rooms. You'd think that would be enough of an incentive to get some attention, but I had to fight to do it and could not get them to talk to me on the phone even once. The phone would just ring off the hook when I asked to be transferred. It was the most bizarre experience. I did receive a few emails assuring me everything was perfect but I had that nagging feeling it wasn't. Sure enough, the first guest shows up and nobody can find the reservation and I get the phone call from my client that there was no room for her. Then they find the reservations and say that I had to fax credit card info when I had already done that!!! It wasn't until the general manager intervened and I forwarded the communications to him that he straightened it out. It was pretty embarrassing for me. Then I came and took them all out for dinner in the restaurant. The bartender was terrific. The waiter was marginal and the food was average. Definitely just an average menu with little ambiance. As a constant business traveler, this was the strangest experience I've had by far.

We had the pleasure of staying in this hotel pre-cruise and again after a fast tour of the keys. We were lucky enough to receive our room very early as our flight landed at 6:45 am. The rooms were very comfortable. We were met with VERY freindly staff at every turn. The breakfasts in the restaurant were expertly prepared, delicious and plentiful. The location couldn't be beat as far as proximity to cruise pier is concerned. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all. As far as being a little ways from town - it was only a $10 cab ride from Las Olas Blvd.

Beautiful building decor, but the stay was noise, we didn't get a good night sleep. There was a howling wind that blew through the wall mounted air conditioner from the time we came in all day and night! We went down to ask what could be done. They gave free eye mask and ear plugs. That was the only solution the staff offered. Of course that did not work!

didn't like that housekeeping came in the room without knocking. She had seen my sister leave the room and I guess assumed it was empty. Also the room was not cleaned until after 3pm of our second day. Air conditioner very noisy. On site restaurant was so-so. Front desk service excellent.
