Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Had worst experience ever
I've been staying at this hotel for about 10 years at least once a year to visit family and occasionally take the family to Disneyland. The place was never the cleanest or nicest condition hotel or the cheapest, but it because a regular stop for me since the service always made it feel very comfortable. This last stay in June was very different. My brother and significant other decided to come down for a couple days while we were visiting this summer. To meet up before we went to Disneyland, they came over to our hotel and joined us for breakfast. I did not realize that was a violation of the hotel policy. They joined us for a second time as we were leaving that day to go home. That is when the hotel staff waited till we were done eating to pull me aside and interrogate me. I was completely honest and answered their questions, and when I realized I had not followed hotel policy, I did not contest or argue to pay for their breakfasts as they asked. When I asked how much, the manager would not give me a straight answer, ever after I was completely cooperative, explaining to them that I had never been asked this before, and my mother had even joined me in past years when I believe they said it was ok. This time it was clearly not. When I went to pay the fee, the made $20/person/day. I paid a total of $80. When I asked if that was the policy, the from desk staff was the most least caring person I had experience with before. I asked them if they were trying to send a message and wanted to be as punitive as possible because I was shocked. When the manager talked to me and asked me questions, he said next time I needed to just let them know about my guests. The front desk staff was so motivated to "stick it to me," he even had the gall to thank me for my honest when I told them it was for 2 days so he could charge me more. The experience was so disturbing that I was bothered by this experience for 3 days afterwards because I don't consider myself a dishonest person or a person that needs to be punished and sent a harsh message for making a mistake, which I thought the manager understood. I will not have this experience reflect the entire company, because as a Gold member I've historically had good experiences at other hotels. But for obvious reasons, I could never stay at this place again, especially since I have stayed here for personal travel, not business. They did not seem to care that I was a frequent customer and made it clear that I was not to come back.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by karaki Nice place from the exterior, no amenities
Do you want a refrigerator in the room? Don't stay here. It will cost an extra $10 per night, IF they have a refrigerator available. Want a microwave? Walk down to the lobby to get your food heated up. Want to wash or dry your clothes? Pay $3.00 per load wash, pay another $3.00 for a drying. Internet connection was reasonable, but I had to reconnect/sign-in before every session. I've been at other Holiday Inn Expresses for less money, but more amenities. It does have a rather impressive lobby.
