As a Platinum IHG member I expect a little more effort. As we approached the front desk, there was no greeting and we felt like we were inconveniencing the girl. We were early and could not be accommodated which was ok, but when I ask about an upgrade I was told "no". When we advised that we were leaving the next morning at 4:30am and ask if we could take a bagel or cereal cup with us, we were told "no", breakfast didn't start until 6am. That afternoon there was a constant banging outside the room for over 2 hours and it took 3 calls to the front for someone to check into it. When my husband ask if we would be able to get a cab at 4:30am, the girl told him "no" and told him she could arrange a car for a flat rate of $55 to LGA. I knew better, as I visit NYC more often. There are plenty of cabs to be had at any hour in that part of the city and the rate to LGA is $30 when you take the Queensboro Bridge (no fare to cross).
The room was comfortable and clean, but the staff needs a lot of work!

The best thing about this hotel is the location. Times Square is a 5 minute walk and you can walk to Central Park down fifth ave in 10 min. Rockefeller center is 5 min walk.

Traveling on business, this was the first time staying at this NYC property. The staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was very clean and comfortable. Convenient location. It would have been nice to have a little more counter space in the bathroom, but everything else was top notch, including the internet service. I recommend.
