All good HI standard. Not much in the immediate area but not far to plenty local bars, restaurants, etc. Good breakfast but the sausages in the HI Stafford were better. Sausages always set a standard.
Handy for the ferry.

The rooms in this property are a little larger than the usual Holiday Inn Express - a good point. However, the price of drinks in the bar is excessive. I didn't notice on my first night as I paid for my meal and drink in one go, but on the second night the trainee behind the bar had closed the tab before I was able to order and hence the exorbitant price of an orange juice and lemonade was stark £4.55!!! I have this drink every evening with my meal as I don't drink alcohol when travelling and there is a chance I might need to use my car. I have checked back over other hotels that I use (mainly HIE# and the average price for this particular drink is £3.00.
I must also point out that if you want a meal on a Wednesday evening there are two groups of the local weight watchers that use a room in the hotel, instead of using the main entrance they use the emergency exit in the middle of the restaurant which not only means you are disturbed but there is a constant cold draft from the opening #and not closing) of the door.
I suspect I will have no option to stay in this establishment again but it will not be from choice.
