... a bit noisy, El Camino noise gets high early in the morning. Very low chair ==> difficult to work at the desk.

We recently stayed at the Holiday Inn in Redwood City. Cleanest, friendliest hotel. The staff went out of there to make our stay there comfortable. I was there by myself while my husband had surgery at Stanford Medical Center. They all asked about him and his well being, but also told him the night before his surgery that they would take good care of me!
The room was really large with a small living room and VERY clean. The breakfast buffet was immaculate and had lots of choices. The only downside is that you hear some traffic from El Camino Real, but having said that getting to Stanford Hospital from the hotel was very easy!
I would stay here again!

First off it took 35 minutes for the front desk attendant to check me in, maybe she was new on the job or whatever.I was then book upstairs in a room where...what else the room key did not work...back to the front desk...back upstairs...hurray..I'm in my room finally. After a search for a nearby restaraunt ( there are no close by eateries) . I returned for a good nite sleep . NOT! this hotel is located right on El Camino Real the noisiest street 24 hours of traffic, trucks cars, you name it , the sound echos throughout the courtyard as it faces the avenue like a bandstand.Oh did i mention car alarms, fire trucks...geez..at +$200 a night ...no way ...go elsewhere..

The staff was professional and helpful. Breakfast was good - lots to choose from. There was always bottled water in my room (free!) My only complaint is that the room could be updated a bit more. It's rather tired looking. I also prefer a hotel with an indoor hallway - as a single woman traveling, I just feel safer when the door to my room is not accessible to the outside.

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights while visiting family in the area, and we would absolutely stay here again. The staff was friendly, helpful, and very attentive to our needs (i.e. last minute request for a crib in our room.) The hot breakfast was fantastic (I'm used to continental breakfasts with bagels) and the location was perfect for our trip. It is close to lots of restaurants and a Target, which was helpful for us since we were traveling with an infant. The price was affordable and service was great! We will plan on staying at this hotel for future trips!

This is the second multi-night stay we've booked at this inn (a few years apart). It is a convenient location for all things "Bay Area" and the grounds and accommodations were remarkably consistent. Friendly staff. Only little annoyance was some traffic noise.

HalSF Silicon Valley Oasis
I've stayed before and I'll be happy to return. Although located right off busy El Camino, the hotel is surrounded by a quiet neighborhood and the building layout keeps everything peaceful and tranquil. The staff is uniformly polite, friendly, and helpful. It's got easy access to the 101 and 280 freeways and the San Mateo and Dumbarton bridges, and it's an excellent spot for trips to Stanford, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Silicon Valley. Solid breakfast and coffee in the morning, decent wifi, a computer/printer for airline boarding passes — it's nothing fancy but it's all good.

Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by holybucket Clean, rooms great, but gym needs some work
The rooms were very nicely renovated, modern, and chic. Big bonus with the iHome dock for your iPhone/iPod. Really needs to be a standard in all rooms. Only let-down is that the gym is extremely outdated. Machines seem to be from the 1980s. Dissappointed with that.
