Rated 4,0 out of 5,0 by Consistent value Good value for emergency stay (had locked myself out!). Nice bed. Breakfast choice a bit limited. Unusual bacon - had streaks of meat in the fat. Staff were good and friendly, but the notices warning of the consequences of (eg) removing yogurt from the breakfast area, or damaging the room window for daring to open it makes a typical guest feel like a criminal. 21. Rated 1,0 out of 5,0 by I thought IHG were better than this... On arrival, the reception staff were very slow to acknowledge me despite there being no queue. I was told to enter my card and PIN number to authorise any additional expenses although this was added as a supplement by my company. I asked if money would be taken or pre-authorised and I was told 'definitely not, this is just for security'. I went up to my room which was freezing cold and only had one small electric heater which got warm at best. Although the window was closed, the wind was strong outside and there was a real draft coming through it. The flag outside was banging against the pole very loudly. I went down for the bar for some dinner and a drink and was walked into by a member of staff who looked at me and tutted. This same member of staff then took my food order after a long wait, following the instructions in the room, I asked that he give me a call when the food was ready and I'd come down and collect it. 45 minutes later someone arrived at my room with a barely warm steak and some cold, soggy fries. The food was inedible. I asked for the steak rare, but the meat was such poor quality that the veins of uncooked fat running through it made it impossible to cut. The fries were thick with used grease, cold and tasted disgusting. This hotel wasn't a nice place to stay, and moreover £50.00 was taken from my card as I was told categorically would not happen by the receptionist. I'll never stay in a Holiday Inn Express again. 16. Januar 2015
Rated 1,0 out of 5,0 by Never Again I have been a member of the Priority club for over 10 years as a platinum elite member and this is the worst experience I have ever experienced, from checking in where the manager demanded that I give my credit card for pre authorisation even though he knew my company were paying the bill. The manager then refused to give me my room card until he phoned the area manager and asked for his approval regarding me refusing my credit card, area manager told me this the only time I would be able to get away with this????? Then on to the bar to calm down, my pint arrived cloudy due to a barrel change and when I asked the barman to exchange the pint I was told to drink it, because he was not allowed any wastage???? Then to top it all I have been refused my points for the two stays , with the hotel manager stating that any company paying the customers bill are not entitled to the priority points, this is the first hotel ever to refused me my points. So any priority club member who like myself collect points and the company pay the bill please be aware. 15. Januar 2015

I have stayed here a number of times over the years and each time the service is consistantly excellent and the rooms are all clean, warm and confortable. I will definately be using this hotel in the future. 12. Januar 2015
Rated 3,0 out of 5,0 by Good value, bad coffee Holiday Inn Express Southampton just needs a few tweaks to be a pretty decent hotel. Artificial tasting machine coffee in this day and age is frankly embarrassing, I would have been happy to pay big chain prices but this stuff should have been complimentary. Also its bizarre that there is no lunch menu, they do not serve a single sandwich and instead suggest a burger or the starters (edited to lite bites). Otherwise rooms were clean, its easy to find from the M27 and the Wifi was included. 12. Januar 2015
