I awoke at 8 am and went for my shower to be greeted by a nasty surprise there was no hot water!
I had a quick cold shower and so did my wife when I asked at the desk I was told they had a problem and an engineer was working on it.
I find it surprising that no attempt was made to contact the guests to warn them of the problem.
No discount was offered as compensation for not supplying my needs.

I was very impressed by the standard of comfort and cleanliness. The friendliness of reception staff was notable. The provision for ordering and eating a takeaway in the room, with china plates and cutlery available from the reception area, was an outstanding added extra that made the stay especially good. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Booked this hotel through Alton Towers website & was absolutely delighted with every aspect. Staff were so helpful & friendly (Sian in particular) and our room was amazing. I've never stayed in a Holiday Inn before & I definitely will again. Thank you for making our weekend so amazing!

Stayed on a Sunday night so probably got a better rate because of that. Excellent value for money would definitely stay again.

Everything was going really well until the maid let herself in, whilst we were still in bed sleeping, and asked what time we were checking out! Not impressed at all. I doubt we will be returning.

Lovely staff, but be aware that rooms directly over the entrance to the hotel are likely to be downwind of the smokers who congregate outside the front door - worth knowing, we didn't realise until the kids were already asleep, so didn't ask for room change, but I am certain the hotel would have obliged, had we asked, and had there been available room. Otherwise, all good.

The accommodations and staff were generally very good.
The only downside was the disorganized breakfast. During the peak rush period, the tables were not wiped down once guests had finished. I used my own travel towelettes to clean off a table filled with crumbs and sticky juice glass rings (yuck). I saw another guest doing the same at her table for her family.
