Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Secret in Baltimore! This is my go-to hotel when I am in this town. Simply put, you get a great night's sleep! The beds are very comfortable. Rooms are soundproof. Nice layout, good size. Amenities include a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, free breakfast and free Shuttle to the basic places folks want to go. Staff is kind and always willing to help. They really care here. They have lots of competition; however I find their simplicity in delivering the real things you need in a hotel, makes them stand out. You won't be sorry if you stay here. 08 September 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great place to stay Enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Especially appreciated the complimentary shuttle to Johns Hopkins. Only suggestion would be for the hotel to have more double queen rooms available. We had a loved one as a patient at Hopkins for a week and did not know until late afternoon each day that we would be spending another night. Several nights we were unable to stay at Holiday Inn Express because they did not have any rooms with two queen beds available...only kings. 27 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice clean room with a relaxed atmosphere The facility is ideal for people traveling on a business or quick overnight stay. Check in and check out were quick. The self service breakfast was unique, but it had healthy fruit as well as some pastry; including some sausage. I personally found my room very neat, clean and nicely set up for an overnight stay on a short notice. It allowed me to stay overnight to recover from a rough day and get adequate rest for a long drive home again. 18 August 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful Property The hotel lobby & room was beautiful at our most recent stay 8/8/13. The room was spacious & very clean. The shuttle only operates until 930 pm. We wanted to stay in the harbor later, therefore we walked back to the hotel. It wasn't the best area to walk through at night, but my 3 girls and I tried it, feeling slightly uncomfortable. Breakfast was very good. There were not many tables in the breakfast area tho. 16 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed and friendly staff At first look of this hotel, I wasn't so sure. The neighborhood didnt look the best, and the hotel looked a little out of place. However, I was completely surprised when I walked in the front door. The hotel once was a bank an the history adds a historic touch. The lobby was beautiful and our room was amazing. The bed was so comfortable that I could have slept all day! We took the shuttle downtown and the driver was very friendly. We also walked to the inner harbor and and the Orioles game and it wasn't a bad walk...roughy 20 minutes. I don't recommend walking around the neighborhood alone at night, but you will be fine with others. Overall I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great hotel at a reasonable price. I also highly recommend the cinnamon buns for breakfast! 14 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Clean Hotel. My sister and myself stayed in the Holliday Inn Express because our mother was having surgery at Johns Hopkins. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The rooms are very clean, beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, they had a variety of items to choose from. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great people but iffy property We saw professional, friendly staff doing their best with a property that has problems. We were surprised by the stuff that was broken: a back door, icemakers (only one working in the building), towel rack in our room (bars falling off). Drivers need to know that parking is very limited and options in the area are not great. The free city circulator bus has a stop at hotel - big plus. Neighborhood a bit sketchy. (How so? Hotel is sandwiched between a police station and juvenile court building.) 01 August 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel, horrible location I feel bad because it's a great building, great staff and nice rooms but unfortunately you feel like you're in a prison because of location in a seedy area. As I pulled up there were bums swigging vodka in the parking lot. Although next to a juvenile detention center it is offset by the fact that the police station is on the other side. I was a bit fearful leaving my car overnight which was reinforced by a friend living in Baltimore. If you're going to stay in the hotel the whole time it's a great place. 30 July 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Angenehm überrascht, weil … wir mit dieser eleganten Atmosphäre vom „Holiday Inn Express Baltimore Downtown“ nicht gerechnet hatten. Die Hotelhalle hat eine Ambiente, die man einfach selber gesehen haben muss. Die hohe Hotelhalle mit ihren Säulen und der Rezeption, ist in Wirklichkeit noch viel schöner als auf den Bildern, die wir uns vorab angesehen hatten. Hier passt einfach alles zusammen. Das Hotel befindet sich in den Original-Räumlichkeiten der „Old Town Bank“ (mit Original Tresortür) aus dem des 20. Jh. und nur wenige Minuten zu Fuß vom Innenhafen, entfernt. Die Lage des Hotels eignet sich ideal, um die Vielzahl der Attraktionen in der Gegend zu Fuß erkunden. Durch die zentrale Lage halten wir die Hotel-Parkgebühren von ca. 12.- $ für angemessen. Wer nicht zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten in die Stadt laufen will, kann auch den kostenlosen lokalen Shuttle-Service vom Hotel benutzen. Zu den Ausstattungsmerkmalen vom Hotel zählen u.a. ein Fitnesscenter sowie ein gutes und kostenloses Frühstücksbüfett. Besonderes gefallen hat uns noch, das wir und auch andere Hotelgäste, zu einem kostenlosen Lunch (Snacks), mit u. a. Wein in der Hotelhalle eingeladen wurden. Diese Einladung findet übrigens auch, jeden Mittwoch von 5pm bis 7pm statt. Zusammenfassend ist festzustellen, dass wir mit dem Hotel (Personal, Zimmer, Frühstück, Hotelatmosphäre/Sauberkeit) und seiner besonderen Lage für Sightseeing „SEHR ZUFRIEDEN“ waren und würden jeder Zeit wieder ins „Holiday Inn Express Baltimore Downtown“ gehen. 26 July 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place - Great Value This hotel was awesome. It appears to be an old bank building converted into a Holiday Inn Express. The ambiance was very cool. The location is superb just a 4 block walk to the Inner Harbor. Shuttle service is available if you wish. There were complimentary hors d'oeuvres and drinks that evening supplied by a local restaurant. The property and room were clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay here again. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No breakfest for 25 minutes. Trays were empty at 9:00 am. Had to wait 25 minutes for breakfest. All guests were waiting. There was limited table space but alot of room to add more tables. Asked front desk why there was no foof and they could not give a answer. Haad to park 3 blocks away because the hotel was out of spaces. This area is not the best. Need more parking. Would not stay here again . 05 July 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Surprisingly beautiful lobby, great service, comfortable room Although not situated in the best part of town, this HI Express boasts a stunning lobby, very cordial staff and a few perks. For instance, rather than take your car out of the adjacent lot which you parked yourself, you're offered a hotel shuttle to downtown restaurants and sightseeing spots. I was in the mood for crab, and was given the name of "best place in town" and told they'd come pick me up and bring me back - free (except you tip the driver, of course, who was very accommodating and knowledgeable of surrounding neighborhoods' history). They were there for me promptly both to and from the restaurant, where I found the prices reasonable and the food ample, fresh and delicious. I had a lovely time in Baltimore that night, and a satisfying breakfast before I left the next morning. Certainly worth the price. 29 June 2013

Was a very lovely hotel architecturally being a former bank however the maze of hallways was rather confusing at first...:) Friendly staff made for a nice visit and even though parking was limited there were no issues although having to pay to park was slightly annoying. Priority Club benefit was only a water bottle...maybe free parking for priority club? That would be a perk. Arrived at 3pm and the cookies were already gone. All in all a lovely hotel that was well run and easily accessible during visit to Inner Harbor and the Aquarium. 27 June 2013

The shuttle service was wonderful and all the drivers were on time and very good. the room was comfortable except for dirty carpet and lack of ventilation in bathroom. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Superb bargain This hotel was recommended by the Johns Hopkins Hospital, which uses this hotel regularly for its patients and their family. The rates are excellent. It is ultra-clean, and has a free shuttle service to the hospital. I did not eat breakfast, but my wife did. She was pleased. From now on, I plan to use Holiday Inn Express in other cities. 17 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent room but not sure about charges The room was excellent with a fantastic deal! Loved how big it was and very satisfied with service and price range. Only thing that bothered us is charges. We asked to switch cards on which the room goes on, and instead it was charged on the originial card but the latter card was charged weird charges. When asked, they said there was nothing to be done about changing cards as no other cards were on file. How did the latter card get charged then?? 13 June 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by noisy and not in great shape the area was extremely noisy with street traffic and we had to change our room as the first one the carpet had big dirty stains on it. I wouldn't let my home carpetig look like that, much less to pay to stay in a room that looks like that. the second room was better, in that the carpet was less stained--but still not up to par with competitors. 07 June 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Initial Dissapointment I'm come to Baltimore every year for the music festival across the street. This year I had made a reservation months in advance for a two bed room. When i arrived I was instead given a one bed room with a couch bed. I went down to ask if there was mistake or for an explanation. The front desk person who I spoke with, who seemed to be of some managerial level, responded to my question with immediate defensiveness and claimed I was in the wrong for having a problem. No one reserves a two bed and expects a couch bed. It's one step away from a cot. Obviously I am going to be disappointed. I was ready to make due with the room because I knew the place was fully booked. I wasn't even going to ask for anything, just for an acknowledgement that they were not giving me what I was paying for. I left the conversation frustrated. I have no intention of staying at Holiday Express again. Two remaining points: The breakfast was of low quality. The remainder of the staff were nice and accommodating, especially the house cleaning staff. 03 June 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by ROOM Rug extremely dirty, had stains and spots all over it in our room. The rug in our room needs to be replaced, I don't think a good cleaning would do the trick. A second replace bed sheet noticed needs to be placed in room because when I place change sheets only one bed was changed, how do I know this, because I put a mark on both bed sheet to see if they had been change. I found only one bed had been changed it was the one with the sign on it change sheets. I thought that if you put the sign on the bed both beds would be changed, they weren't. That is why I decided not to leave the maid a tip. Otherwise that was the only bad experience we encountered at your hotel. So I'm not sure if I would recommend this property. 29 May 2013

Walking distance to the Inner Harbor, Little Italy and downtown. A better gym would have made it perfect but you are within walking distance to a full service gym if you want to pay. I arrived each night around midnight, due to being with my husband at John Hopkins Hospital getting a treatment.
