The review may be a bit biased as we stopped over Xmas but we found the hotel a good place to stay. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. The hotel was about a 15 minute walk into Bath so not too far and had its own car park (extra £6 a night). Breakfast although basic was a bonus as a lot of hotels at the same price were room only.

Really poor with names which makes me very sad not to mention 'by name' the lovely lady my husband and I encountered both on the bar and on reception the next morning, during our stay 20th/21st Dec 12', great chat, and full of general info. Short contact with other staff also, and given friendly contact.
Rooms clean, neat and what you would expect from a Holiday Inn.
Position great for our purpose, only downside was car parking charge, which I am sure is mentioned in small print, but £6.00 on top of overnight stay was irritating........ Either include at time of booking or don't charge, silly I know but I feel a bit mugged.

Comfortable hotel in a great location just 5 minuets walk from the city centre. Staff were excellent and helpful, the room was comfortable and well equipped although the bed could have been bigger. I am 6' 3" and my wife 5' 10" and the bed was too small for us.
Breakfast room was busy with long queues but the food was ok.
Overall we thought the hotel was good value for money for our nights stay in the beautiful city of Bath.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by family22 less than satisfactory stay
Having stayed at the same hotel previously, I expected a welcoming stay with helpful staff. Unfortunately, it was explained that due to legal liabilities etc, the hotel staff were unwilling to help my wife and I errect the supplied baby cot. When we then called front desk to report that the cot was broken, they brought us another cot for our self assembly. Unfortunately this cot was similarly broken (the arms would not correctly lock) and so the cot was not used as there was real danger of its collapse during the night. I personally find this cannot help because of HSE rules etc as a joke and would not therefore recommend this hotel to any customers with small babies. The other issue we suffered was a lack of car parking spaces which meant I was required to double-park although thankfully this did not cause an issue. However, clearer space marking in the car park would have allowed more cars to fit in without this necessity.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by pauls1 pleasent safe stay
parking was ample and felt safe to leave my car there.
welcoming greeting from front desk, fast efficient check in.
my room was what i come to expect from holiday inn, warm spacious, comfortable bed, no noise from adjacent rooms.
being a first time visitor to this hotel, and bath itself, i was more than pleased with the directions given to the town centre by the front desk, and the local map that i was given which had the best route highlighted.
the bar was fine, but maybe a slightly more expansive light menu, would have been nice, similar to the one i have experieced at the manchester gorton road hotel. and bacon would make a nice change from sausage for breakfast.
Overall a very enjoyable stay.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by hallam245 ideally located, clean room, BAD breakfast
Ideally located for walking into Bath centre and parking facilities were fabulous. the room was spacious and the bathroom was clean and well designed.
The only bad thing about this hotel was the breakfast, the only selection of hoty was chewy sausages, beans and unedible scrambled egg. the croisants where almost stale and the orange juice tasted of water, which i was shocked at because holiday inn are usually so good at breakfast!
hotel would also benifit from room service and there isnt a restaurant nearby

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by bertie12 Excellent stay!
i found this hotel to be everything i wanted it to be. It benefitted from having its own car parking which although your had to pay a small amount for, it was worth it as it was only a short walk from the city centre, where parking is very expensive and traffic very busy so far better to walk. The hotel itself and the staff were wonderful! thanks

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Peter48 Very disappointed with this Holiday Inn in Bath
Very disappointed with this Holiday Inn in Bath. Tiny Bathroom with no choice of bath. Blood on sheets. Poor breakfast; orange juice highly watered down. No bacon, grilled tomatoes or mushrooms for their recommnended full english breakfast and croissants were baked hard. Hotel carpark was not free. Free wifi did not extend to the hotel rooms. Overall very poor.

Hotel is clean and comfortable with a bonus of on sight parking although it ost £6 per day: the family room was a tight squeeze, breakfast wasn't the best either but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Will2 Not a great experience I'm afraid
When you book quickly you don't always read all the small print on the website, so for what is not a cheap night, you discover on check-in that the carpark costs an extra £6.00 and that WiFi will set you back £9.00 for 24-hours.
The breakfast was disappointing to say the least. Dining area was rather like a sauna with queuing system for food that felt more like school than hotel. Poor choice of cooked options. My daughter had to kneel at our table as there were insufficient chairs.
For the price, a shocker, when compared to local B&Bs we have stayed in.

We stayed in three Holiday Inn properties during a recent trip to UK and this was our favorite. Rooms were bright, modern and sparkling clean. Staff was extremely courteous, breakfast was excellent. Hotel is situated in busy area but was quiet and restful. I can highly recommend this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Convenient, comfortable and friendly, but breakfast poor
My first time in the Hoilday Inn Bath, having stayed at many others. It was conveneinetly situated, with a brisk 10 minute level walk into town. The room was very comfortable and clean and the reception staff welcoming and helpful. The complementary breakfast was unappetising and the orange juice was in fact orange squosh (very parsimonious). The price is average for Bath, but expensive for a Holiday Inn Express.I would stay again, but have breakfast in town.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ASte Welcoming staff and hearty breakfast!
We visited Bath to attend a uni open day and needed somewhere convenient to stay for just one night. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I booked a double room with a bed settee for myself and two teenage sons. We were all perfectly comfortable. There were snacks and hot drinks available when we arrived late evening. Breakfast was a wonderful feast! There was so much choice and food that should be hot was hot! Although self-service, there were plenty of attentive staff to oversee the service and give assistance. Nothing was too much trouble during our stay. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay again next time we visit Bath. PS Bath is such a beautiful city to visit. Holiday Express is within walking distance of the centre - but even when we needed a taxi, the staff were happy to make a call and a taxi arrived within ten minutes.

This hotel provided everything I needed for a 24 hour break in Bath, away from home and chores, with my daughter. The Indian cuisine on the opposite side of the road is particularly good too. Perfect girly time had by us both.

I have stayed here before as my daughter is studying at Bath university. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and although quite expensive, that is due to it being in the beautiful city of Bath and prices are comparative. Recommended

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bathexperss Bath Express - poor facilities
I had to fight a whole morning to get an iron as the hotel has ONLY 4 (!!!) iron available for the guests (~150 rooms....).
The breakfast is very poor, eggs are not cooked enough
