Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pleasantly suprised Fab hotel clean trendy smart, service excellent, Roadworks annoying outside when driving to the hotel. Parking couldnt be nearer but bit expensive. 24 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Convenient, clean and stylish Situated well for central birmingham. Very modern, clean and stylish rooms. Loved the big shower. Only down thing was we had a family room which was the sofa bed and a double bed, which is a bit of a pain and lacking in comfort when you have a 10 and 7 year old who won't share a bed. 22 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beatiful location and great quality the location was fantastic, the staff very friendly. Hotel well located in the city. breakfast varies little. I recommend the accomodation 22 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fab staff and comfortable room Stayed in a family room, my husband, myself and 3 kids, was clean, spacious and well presented. Breakfast options would be greatly improved with bacon :( but on the whole we left full up and ready to face the day. Would definitely stay again as was only a 10 minute walk to the railway station and was ideally situated for a city centre trip with kids. 22 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Comfortable We were very please with our stay at the hotel. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and courteous. Overall a very pleasant experience. Only drawback there is no car park but with the hotel discount NCP car park is adjacent to hotel. Bit expensive though. 21 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Extremely helpful staff, lovely hotel Couldn't ask for more with this hotel. Good value, clean and very helpful staff. We had a takeaway one night and the staff provided us with plates and cutlery and we sat in the dining area. Im sure not many other hotels would do that. Would highly recommend, brilliant value for money!! 21 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for money We stayed here for T20 finals at Edgbaston. Location is great just a few minutes drive to cricket, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. Beds comfortable, good shower and air con. Breakfast plentiful and of good quality. Parking is expensive £12 for 24 hours, but as hotel rate cheaper than others overall cost about par with other budget chains. The only downside we had was that the sofa bed for the children was a very small double, and having a 15 yr old and 13 yr old boy, they didn't have much room. So maybe if you have older children, you would be better off somewhere else. 21 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice clean, modern hotel Really nice modern hotel with clean rooms and stylish bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful with queries we had when asking about the area nearby. Shame that the parking is so expensive even with the discount from the hotel but with location it is in it was worth it as we could walk into town in just a few minutes leaving the car in the car park so with the price of the hotel I would say that overall I cant complain about the car parking (not the hotels car park any way so not their fault) Breakfast was really nice and a good variety for kids and adults. Overall really nice couple of days. Cant fault it and have recommended it to others already! 20 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Rooms & Good Location Comfortable rooms & good breakfast options. However, the rooms are smaller when compared to other holiday inn hotels. But, great value for what you pay and good views from the rooms. 20 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service and cleanlines We had a good overnight stay at the Holiday Inn Express, Snow Hill, Birmingham. The staff were very courteous and were always willing to help. For us the quality of the breakfast wasn't so good but all-in-all it was great value for money, so that is only a minor complaint. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others. 20 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good Stay I booked this new hotel for family and friends, it is easy to find and excellently located. Staff were helpful and friendly, accommodation was very good, hotel was busy and breakfast was a little hectic and tables were a bit of a premium. That being said I would definitely recommend this hotel 19 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FAMILY SHORT BREAK VERY GOOD VALUE. ONLY ISSUES WAS PROBLEM AT HOTEL CHECK IN. WHICH I HAD DISCUSSED BEFORE BOOKING MY METHOD OF PAYMENT. THEN REFUSED AT THE HOTEL. BUT AFTER PHONE CALL TO MY HUSBAND . PROBLEM SOLVED. ALSO SOFABED MATTRESS WAS UNCOMFORTABLE VIA SPRINGS BEING FELT. I REPORTED IT NEXT MORNING. NOTHING WAS DONE ABOUT IT. I SOLVED THE PROBLEM MYSELF BY TURNING THE MATTRESS. BUT GOOD SIDES WERE LOVELY, FRIENDLY, CLEAN HOTEL. IDEAL LOCATION FOR STATIONS, TOWN CENTRE AND CADBURYS WORLD. ( REASON FOR OUR VISIT. WOULD USE AGAIN.. 19 August 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor exerience One of the worst if not the worst hotels we have stayed in No sleep very noisy !!!! 17 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by couldn't expect anything more If the receptionist who booked me and my child in, and had bothered to tell us that we would need to use our room card in order to operate the guest; lift then our stay would have been faultless. However, linen: soft and comforting, with a choice of pillow firmness. Bathroom (shower room): to die for! Tv: works, Curtains: blackouts. Hairdryer, tall mirror, plenty of plug sockets. Not a lot of milk cartons for drinks, but you only need to ask if anything is missing. Breakfast can be a little crowded but this is not a huge problem, we were not the ones on our way to work! Maybe some bacon would improve the breakfast selection. Taxis were booked for us by the remainder of the very helpful staff and the hotel was ideal for the purpose of our trip to Birmingham. NOTE: this hotel must be a max 10 minute (mostly covered) walk away from Birmingham New Street Station. 17 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean and comfortable room Excellent hotel, lovely large clean room, very impressed. Helpful, pleasant staff. Breakfast was lovely too - very enjoyable stay 17 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great city cente hotel We stayed one night in August (2 ad 2 ch). A bit hard to get to because of the tunnel roadworks, expecially if you're driving from the opposite direction but we managed it it in the end. Great staff at desk who enjoyed speaking with all the kids at the hotel - we had a great family room on the 13th floor with fantastic views (kids loved it!). As this being a new hotel, there were some differences, one being the bathroom which is now different to the other HI Express hotels (no same door for the bathroom and the the toilet) and the sofabed which was the pull out with mattress. Free internet which is perfect - sometimes you just need to check/send a few emails. Breakfast was up to standard and great to see a note in the lifts stating the quiet/busy times - perfect so you know when to avoid. Car park next to hotel (£12 overnight fo guest), alothough you could park on the side street for free after 7pm to 8am (if you know you're leaving by then). Good stay and would recommend this to others. 16 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Highly Recommended Stayed there with my wife and 3 months daughter, very clean, staff was very friendly good choice of breakfast Highly recommended !! 16 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great value Decided to book in again - as before a spotlessly clean room and this time with considerable floorspace high up on the 19th floor. Very quiet and comfortable. Good central location next to station and would make a good future weekend away. Staff v friendly, its good that platinum status gets such a warm welcome here too. 12 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great City Views Good hotel and great new rooms. We were on the 16th Floor with a family room. The wife and kids loved it. Clean, friendly atmosphere and great way to relax and enjoy the views of the city of Birmingham. Front desk staff were very helpful. Breakfast times were and little restricted, especially during summer holiday's and breakfast staff were more interested in closing the bar area quickly. I would recommended that the staff allow the people already in the breakfast room seating area to finish their food and close the breakfast room seating entrance rather than just close the breakfast food area and leave the paying customers stranded in the seating area. Car parking was expensive even with the hotel rebate. 12 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by New Hotel Hotel was obviously new, or newly furbished. Room was very spacious, on top, 19th floor. Bathroom was very modern and shower was excellent. Due to the size of the hotel, was very busy and, consequently, choices at breakfast ran out several times. Thought the cereal choice was not as varied as at other Holiday Inn Express.Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, with the exception of the car parking knowledge. Due to the fact the hotel does not have its own parking, guests are required to use the NCP car park adjacent to the hotel. Fine if your vehicle fits in! Took us over an hour to find somewhere to park overnight as reception had no idea about the on road parking system right outside the hotel! 12 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great value for money This hotel is new and sparkling clean. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. Comfortable bed, great shower. We did have broken toilet seat in our room which should really have been fixed before we went in but we were only staying one night so we managed, and reported it as we left. Did not think the breakfast was quite up to usual Holiday Inn Express standard, scrambled egg was very salty and cold. But overall I would recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again. Parking next door and very near to City centre. Easy to find from M5 and also very handy for Cadbury World. 11 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great we stayed here as a stopover point and due to it been one of the nicest and cheapest hotels on offer in the area the only downside is the parking but I was aware before I stayed but it was very expensive for one nights parking apart from that lovely hotel 11 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent location for nearby attractions We booked a 2-night break and had a lovely time with our two children, aged 1 and 4 years. Friendly helpful staff that provided a travel cot upon request and knowledgable about directions to nearby attractions. The hotel is in a fantastic location, 10 minute walk from The Bullring, 10-minute drive to Botannical Gardens and 15-minute drive from Cadbury's World- which is a must! Good variety of breakfast food, just get there before 8.30 as it gets busy. 09 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel Very nice stay for 2 nights, staff were very helpful would defiantly recommend, the only downside to this hotel is parking I would say even tho you get it half price for staying at the hotel still £26 for 2 nights! 09 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good value for money with offer Straight and simple room, loved the shower as I don't like baths. Nicely located for the Birmingham central 15 minutes to Board Street, easy to find and parking right next to hotel. Overall a good experience especially with the offer price. 08 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Staff Stayed one night had 3 rooms booked, found Jenny on reception extremely friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again. 08 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great hotel We visited this hotel at the end of July, having booked rooms on a special opening offer. We were very pleased we had! Reception was efficient for both checking in and out, with friendly staff at all times. Our rooms(we had booked 2) were in excellent condition(the hotel being new) and were clean, a reasonable size with tea and coffee making facilities and a spacious enough bathroom. Location wise it was great. We decided to park before checking in.The car park entrance was initially quite difficult to find as the hotel web site had directed us to the street beyond, where the actual car park is, as opposed to the entrance of the car park, on the same road (and next door to ) the hotel. The reduction of 50% on car parking fees for hotel guests meant we paid £12 for each 24 hour stay, which we considered a reasonable price. Breakfast, included in the price was average. There were several areas of the breakfast room which were very congested, which was a bind when one was trying to select food. Maybe the management could look into the idea of creating a better flowing system for guests to access food. The kids running around the breakfast room didn't help either. This was no fault of the hotel, instead the fault of parents who were not controlling their children, but we felt the hotel could put up notices requesting that parents should not give their off-spring free range when the breakfast area is busy. We will definitely stay a this hotel again when visiting Birmingham. 06 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by family break My only regret is that it was not two double beds a sofa bed is no use when booking I did advise my kids were 12 and 15 as a previous employee of holiday inn I was always lead to believe the standard in a room was two doubles Staff helpful when I had trouble printing off vouchers 05 August 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Breakfast no too perfect Improve on the bake beans. Looks watery from a 4 star standard. Also no fried egg and the yoghurts are light no other choice. 02 August 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fabulous value for money Lovely accommodation, excellent value with breakfast included as an added bonus. Hotel seemed to have a few teething issues which meant check in and check out took a little while but staff were pleasant and helpful. 02 August 2013
