Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Generally an OK stay Hotel itself was very clean and comfortable. However, a few issues noted: a) no gym (or I believe was not ready). Do not expect this at a Holiday Inn b) computer systems were malfunctioning, so staff were not able to turn TV on in lounge and all billing was manual c) not enough staff in bar area (those on duty were also covering reception and trying to sort malfunctioning computer system!) 09 November 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Enjoyable stay We enjoyed our stay at Holiday inn Snow Hill. Staff were helpful and efficient. Room was clean and quiet. The air conditioning / heating was rather fiddly, took us a while to get the room temperature right. Parking at the NCP car park next door was rather expensive, shame that the hotel does not have its own car park. Overall, a great place, good value for money too. 09 November 2014

Also one of the 3 lifts was out of order - had been through the evening, night and following morning. Given 19 floors I would have thought that all 3 lifts were essential 07 November 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Bed settee For a family of 4 the room was smaller than usual. The bed settee was very small and did not separate into 2 singles as we have previously experienced at Holiday Inn hotels. This made sleeping arrangements for a family of 4 with a teenage boy and young daughter difficult. My husband and I ended up sharing the bed settee which was quite uncomfortable with a flimsy mattress. Please bring back the settee bed with pull-out single mattress underneath!! However, we were delighted with the bathroom facilities which were clean and modern and the soap dispensers are an excellent idea. We were only supplied with 2 mugs and had to ask for another 2 to be supplied. More tea, milk and coffee would have been useful as well. 30 October 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by always enjoy staying here As always a friendly and efficient check in when got to room needed extra towels and they were there within a few minutes breakfast busy but found a table easily plenty of food available but had to ask for cutlery and again sorted within minutes everyone seems to work very hard but are cheery and welcoming good location for central birmingham and going out an about it is my preferred hotel in birmingham 28 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fantastic staff and clean hotel Stayed with teenage daughter and her friend, room was lovely, hotel extremely clean, staff were first class and made us feel like nothing was to much trouble for them, really good windows that blocked out outside noise. Will definitely return. If i could suggest any improvement it would be that the sofa-beds are not very comfortable. Fantastic location 26 October 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good enough! I stayed here after a work's night out, as it was cheaper than a cab home! I only slept and ate breakfast in the hotel. I didn't spend much time there otherwise. One thing I've noticed, my IHG points for my stay haven't appeared in my account yet - 4 days after my stay. The car park next door to the hotel was VERY expensive for one night (£24 for 8 - 24 hours!). There are other car parks further away from the hotel if you want something cheaper. The breakfast was very average. No bacon or fried eggs! Not ideal when nursing a hangover. I was glad that I got the last of the sausages. 23 October 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unbelievable, bright green lights at night- no off switch!! Normally I would never mind being in a room also fitted out for disabled persons. But when I went to sleep and tried to turn out all the lights, bright green lights would not turn off! Reception said could not turn off and the manger said in the morning "fire regulations" Ive stopped in a lot of hotels and never had this ridiculous problem. Main point, I booked in good faith, paid a good price and nobody said I would have to sleep in what seemed like "Northern Lights" The manager, who was very experienced, had I think been on a customer service course = get them out of reception area by taking emails and say we will get back in touch. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 Nice rooms, shame about the food I like HIExpress hotels - they're good value, clean and comfortable. The staff are helpful but rushed and queues can form at check in, check out and the bar (where you also order food). The food choice and quality are generally poor. I have stayed at this hotel several times and it's a case of choosing the least worst item off the menu. On this occasion it was luke warm. Eat out if you can! 17 October 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable bed but manic breakfast This was our first experience as a couple at Holiday Inn as normally stay in family room with child at another hotel next door to mainline station. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom great - lovely spacious shower - liked the relaxing blue lights. Check-in was easy and receptionist very helpful, providing maps/info as requested. Sunday morning breakfast however was a poor experience - no bacon, just poor quality sausage, over-cooked scrambled egg and baked beans for cooked option. Nice bread to make toast. Far too crowded, no real system, certainly no service from staff - two young not too bright individuals. Very noisy and like a student cafeteria. Check-out simple, but so many people at same time. Used stairs as way quicker than waiting for lift. With regards to location to attend NIA and nearby restaurants, it was about 15 minutes easy walk. Though yet again not as convenient as rival hotel we normally use, where we will go back to from now on. 16 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean, comfortable and quiet--outstanding city centre hotel Travel extensively and wife who was with me is in 5* hotel management.(she was very impressed and insisted i didn,t forget to review) The staff at reception where outstanding, with good customer focus.we had booked for one night- and was so impressed we booked a room for two days later (requesting the same room) which we got. When in Birmingham again will definately use this hotel on every occasion and will recommend to friends and business colleagues who visit Birmingham 15 October 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Service I was very happy with my stay especially for the peace and quiet, once inside my room, I did not hear nothing which was needed for studying in the evenings. The room was cleaned daily which I did not expect, I especially loved the shower which was a double, nice and hot and power was adequate. Staff were always happy to help and although I did not manage breakfast every morning as there was breakfast on the course too, it was enough to make me happy. I would happily recommend the hotel and on my next levels 2 and 3 of the course, I will be staying here again. 15 October 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice and quiet good air con. We had a girls weekend away in Birmingham and stayed at The Holiday Inn Express Snowhill. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the rooms and the friendliness from the staff. It was ideally located for the wonderful shopping area and jewellery quarter. Breakfast was a little chaotic and there was no bacon, but didn't reduce the enjoyment of our stay. 18 September 2014
