Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall good, but service was a little slow this time I have been staying at the Holiday Inn now on a weekly basis for work. Overall the service is generally faultless. On this particular occasion, when I booked the room over the phone as I have done before, the receptionist refused my payment card (the same card I have always used). She checked with her manager, who gave her the go ahead and she took my card details. On check-in, I was summoned back downstairs to reception as my payment card had been declined. The same card was presented, and all went through smoothly. We also found the TV was not working on arrival. It was reported to reception (twice) who said they would send an engineer up soon. Over an hour later, nobody had arrived. As it was nearing midnight, and I had an early start, I really wanted to just relax and rest. Another call to reception found a change of staff and communication had failed. A team member was sent up immediately who checked over the TV and found the TV was not working....!! This commanded a room change, as we were there for 2 nights. TV was checked and working fine. Sleep beckoned....!! 29 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Single quest one week Bedroom was clean, tidy, and well laid out. Air con was good although louder than I would have liked, but able to sleep with it on. Quite noisy when the next room had a shower - could hear the water pump (?). Irritating if early in morning or late at night. Complimentary breakfast good but would have liked more selection eg other hot food like hash browns and a wider variety of fresh fruit. Also a slightly different selection each day would have been nice. Compliments on the chocolate croissants. Staff very nice, although a bit extreme on the cleaning - waste of resources to keep changing towels. When I left them on the rail where they were supposid to be ignored for cleaning they were still changed. Nice but wasteful. Was on the 15th floor and had good view. Including a complementary physical map of the area in the room for exploring may have been nice (eg with closest supermarkets/bars/cafes/shopping. 23 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Modern clean rooms with friendly staff A 15 minute walk to the main parts of the city, Holiday Inn Express Snow Hill offers great value with very acceptable and spacious rooms. Wifi was excellent and the bathroom was also quite large and maintained very well. Breakfast spread is very basic but acceptable for one day, but the same spread is given everyday so it will get tired very very fast. Overall, lives up to the Holiday Inn Express brand. 23 July 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ok for one night! Unfortunately the way the hotel has been built means the rooms are noisy from others using their bathrooms. That said my room was fresh and clean, with good WiFi. The bed was not so comfortable as others, but the room had air- con, and on the 19th floor spectacular views. Regrettably it’s the social areas which let this hotel down, very poor. My restaurant experience was poor, the evening meal was bar food but not good. At breakfast there were tables not cleared, or dirty, the food service area was in a shambles, with people waiting for refills. The staff were cold and ill-mannered. Not good. Although Staff numbers may have had a play! Finally don’t expect a warm welcome from reception, very little interaction, and you wait for them to finish speaking to each other or filing out forms. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great service, comfortable room, good value Stayed at Birmingham Snow Hill Holiday Inn Express for 2 nights as visiting Birmingham for our daughter's graduation. Our rooms on the 12th floor were clean and simply furnished but comfortable for our short stay. Shower was great as spacious, walk in style. Mattress was quite comfortable and choice of pillows was great. Rooms were very quiet and view over city good. Was very pleased to find blackout curtains. My only gripes with room were lack of mirror over desk and no drawers for undies!! Breakfast was ok...only choice of hot food was scrambled egg, sausage and baked beans. Would have preferred poached or boiled with tomatoes and bacon. Cereals offered were fine. Easy walking into town. Parking was pricey even with discount £12 per day. Should be free for hotel clients. Overall, a good place for a short stay. 19 July 2014

The hotel is pretty new. the rooms are amazing. the staff is cool. Unfortunally the breakfast doesn't serve any bacon (as all holiday inn express, so you can't blame them). I'll defo will come back 14 July 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent service for the disabled I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Snow Hill in Birmingham while I had my leg in plaster. I had arranged to stay in a room with disabled access and it was superb. The bathroom was structured as a "wet room" so it was really easy for me to get in and out and it had a seat for the shower, which was lovely. The staff were extremely helpful and very aware of access difficulties experienced by disabled people, and did everything they could to help and to make things easier for me. It was a very pleasant stay. 13 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Expectations exceeded We have used smaller Holiday Inn Express hotels before, and have generally been satisfied. This one-night stay, necessitated by the need to be in the City Centre, exceeded our expectations, and there was really nothing about which any reasonable person could be dissatisfied. Reception staff were polite and helpful, we were offered a choice of floors, the lifts worked well, the room was immaculately clean and very quiet (we were on the 7th floor), and the arrangements for the discounted parking at the adjacent NCP facility were efficient and the 50% reduction meant 24hrs for £12, which I consider very reasonable. Even though breakfast time was busy, there were free tables, the hot food was hot (you know the choice is going to be limited, if you want a gourmet breakfast go somewhere else), and the toaster worked! All in all, a very acceptable budget hotel experience. 06 July 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by great room and friendly staff We visited for a 1 night stay. We were greeted by friendly efficient staff. The room was great, it smelt really fresh, and was very clean. The beds were even better than the ones we have at home! with fresh crisp linen. The bathroom was really nice with lovely thick towels. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We didn't use the restaurant as there wasn't a deal of choice and what there was seemed expensive, instead we went for a walk around and ate out locally. Breakfast was good, there wasn't as much choice as other Holiday Inn Expresses we have stayed at, but still enough to choose from. The only downside was the parking, i wasn't too sure about leaving the car in a public multi story car park overnight, but it was fine, though the parking charges do bump up the overall cost. We have booked here again next month and would definitely recommend it. 01 July 2014

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very good overnight stay This is a very good hotel, located close to Aston University which is what we were after. The parking was ok in the nearby multi storey and the reception staff franked our ticket to enable us to receive 50% off the cost. All staff were very friendly and helpful, even let us check in at 1pm. Our room was on the 8th floor and very close to the lifts. The room was clean, light, bright and airy. Not too large but adequate in size. Lovely bathroom with excellent shower. There was a notice in the bathroom to advise that you can request complimentary toiletries, such as toothpaste or toothbrush but we didn't bother. There was liquid soap and shower gel in dispensers. After a good nights sleep we went down for the complimentary breakfast. This was ok for free, but not as comprehensive as competitor hotels. We went at peak time and managed to get a table but the staff seemed a little slow in removing the dirty dishes that customers stack on a rack. The staff did restock the breakfast items on a fairly fast basis but some items were not replenished while we were there. Overall we would definitely stay again for an overnight stay but would chose another hotel for leisure amenities for a longer break. 30 June 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Short break in Birmingham Holiday Inn Express Snow Hill is conveniently located, close to the city centre but far enough away in order to enjoy peace and quiet. I asked for and was given a quiet room on the 6th floor. The room was clean, the bathroom had an excellent shower, and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was ample and unhurried. It is a busy hotel but I didn't experience any of the business. I would definitely stay there again. 30 June 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Snow Hill When first arriving the hotel looked tired. The signage wasn't immediately visible from the roadside and I missed the turning into the carpark. The carpark was expensive and under construction but to be fair it was next door to the hotel. Checking in was a breeze and the staff are fantastic - polite, quick te serve. The rooms are modern and clean - no frills but for the money the rooms were to a reasonable standard. The cooked breakfast was poor. 27 June 2014

There was NO ironing broad, just an iron, so I had to improvise, a very limited meal choice, and had a order a takeaway. Need to be careful getting out of the bathroom, as there is a small step. As a business traveller no good, but as a holiday traveller, staying out all day and only wanting to sleep, good. 24 June 2014
