The staff were the most helpful we have ever come across couldn't do enough to help us. We were a big group with a number of children and the staff were great with the kids and accommodating anything we needed. would definitely recommend to anyone. 06 November 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by very nice hotel Had a nice stay at the hotel this was our 2nd visit. Breakfast was a bit of an ordeal as it was difficult to get food at the same time. One minute the egg had run out but the sausages and beans were available then when the egg was brought out the sausages had run out then when the sausages came out the beans had run out. Good job we were not in a hurry! but the rest of our stay was very nice. 05 November 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great staff I, my wife and two children stayed here for one night, the room was clean and modern in a quiet location. The only problem for us was breakfast, it was terrible, the food was good but the layout of the breakfast bar was unsuitable for the amount of people there, making it a bottle neck where everyone was in total chaos. There was not enough space between the two sides and you had people trying to get out with hot food and hot drinks whilst bumping into other people at the other side and people trying to join the queues. This is an accident waiting to happen. I would like to say the staff at this hotel were very polite and frendly and made us feel very welcome. 23 October 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Now even more reasons to stay... HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS standard is known and reliably everywhere a good choice to decide for. A very nice improvement is the decision to provide WLAN for free. This decision was overdue but at least it was done - thank you. I do now have no problems to convince my company´s travel department to book that hotel also for our team members (the provision of free internet is a strong requirement we have). So there are not really any other points that I would argue. Just to mention that the stff in that hotel is a really friendly one. Regards, Gabriel 16 October 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by My 3 day stay From the moment i checked in on Sunday evening until the morning I left on Wednesday, I was treated like the most important person in the world - nothing was too much trouble for the staff. they were cheerful and polite and so helpful. The room was a good size, bed was comfortable with nice sized pillows, places to work and relax before bed, excellent bathroom with a great shower unit that you didn't want to leave in the morning or evening. Breakfast was more than acceptable, choices for everyone, both hot and cold. The hotel is located five minutes taxi ride from the station. If the dining menu isnt for you, then go next door to the Corner-House for some pub-grub or get a cab into town (£5) I would be happy to stay here time and time again if my company needs me to come to Burton-on-Trent. IHG - your staff are a credit to your organisation and i hope you will pass along my thanks to them... 15 October 2013

Bathroom leaking and towels smelt damp. I’ve stayed in a lot of hotels and this has to be one of my worst experiences. 07 October 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Couldnt of asked for anything more Booked the hotel as myself and partner along with a few more couples were attending a wedding nearby. my partner contacted the hotel a few days before to see if there was any chance a room could be ready early, so that we as a group could leave our bags in there. and maybe use it get changed. when we arrived we were very happy to be told all of our rooms were ready. the receptionist was also happy to arrange a taxi for us. we did arrive back early hours and the night ported was more than happy to serve drinks in the lounge area, we found the rooms clean, adequate and comfortable despite some road noise. the breakfast was well stocked and plenty of clean tables to sit at despite us coming down 15 mins before end of breakfast. as we checked out, we had to wait for one of our party, and was pleasently surpised when we were told we could grab a hot drink from the machine (free) . all in all, very pleasant stay. 25 September 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice stay After staying at the Holiday Inn in Oxford and not being very happy with it I was pleasantly surprised with the Holiday Inn at Burton on Trent. The room was cleaner, we had 4 decent pillows on the double bed instead of the 2 rubbish ones at Oxford. The sofa bed for our son was much better too. The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good. Our son didn't want to leave! 06 September 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Noisy hotel I stay in hotels every Friday and Saturday night because of my work. In 12 years of doing this I've never stayed in such a noisy hotel. Sounded like there was a party in the halls until 4am. Running, shouting, banging, and when I told the receptionist in the morning about it all she said was "yeah we know, a few people have complained!" No apology, nothing! Avoid this hotel at all costs. Staff should've stopped the noise as it was coming from right by the main entrance too. They clearly didn't care about customers trying to relax. 27 August 2013

Breakfast much better than i thought it would be with hot and cold choices available. 24/7 great coffee and other hot drinks available from reception as well as in room. Superb value. within 5 mins there is a McDonalds and a grill bar. Supermarket also close by with cafe Finally great communications from staff prior to the stay. received a phone call to check and confirm details followed up by an email. Great place 22 August 2013

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not great from start to finish Stayed at the holiday inn in burton on Trent to attend a friends wedding on the 17 th August. Arrived at hotel at 1.30 pm to be told that our room was not ready even though I explained that we would need to use the room at this time in order to shower and change in time for the wedding at the time of booking and was told it would not be a problem. Eventually got into our room which was two singles after having booked a double but was told this would be rectified while me and my wife were attending the wedding. Just getting changed I realised I'd left my cuff links at home so decided to buy some from the lobby area on way out. Told receptionist which cuff links I wanted to buy but after 15 minutes of trying various keys she could not open the cabinet so no cuff links. Very poor. After wedding room was same with 2 singles pushed together and bedding that did not fit the bed. Breakfast items were running out before end of service. Not good from start to finish. 21 August 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Bad Breakfast We stayed for 1 night, the room was ok but the sofa bed was lumpy & uncomfortable. The breakfast was extremely poor as we were expecting a selection of cooked items. In fact the only hot items were beans, scrambled egg & sausages. The 1st sausage was burnt to a crisp & all dried up inside, the 2nd & 3rd were raw inside. I gave up but my husband tried a 4th which looked ok, and the 5th was again raw. Myself & our daughter felt unable to chance eating any cooked food after this so we ended up with a croissant & jam making breakfast a poor & expensive experience. 21 August 2013
