Arrived to discover I had originally booked the wrong weekend but helped by the reception staff telling me how to sort it out and they even put the coffee machine on especially for us while I sorted the booking out on my laptop. Hotel is about 2.5miles from the city centre but the walking route is direct and about 40 mins stroll. Room is basic but breakfast is included so reasonable value. Plenty of free parking. Would recommend if you want somewhere to stay without the frills. 23 October 2014

Located about 40 minutes outside the city but a manageable and reasonably pleasant walk that felt safe in the day and walking back even at 2am. Well cared for room and ensuite that looked and smelled fresh and clean which is important to me. Lovely big white towels too. Breakfast was 'help yourself' and the choice on offer means you could still eat quite healthily. Had a leisurely breakfast without feeling the staff wanted you gone. The evening meal was also well prepared with some interesting dishes. Very nice staff who paid attention to things. Overall, I would say I felt relaxed and refreshed after my stay and would definitely stay here again. 23 October 2014

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by No food at the Inn I have recently stayed at several Holiday Inns, This hotel had all the previous problems I had experienced at together, First the key card did not work, when I eventually got in the room was freezing and the window did not shut properly. I went to turn on the heating, but according to the thermostat it was already 45 degrees C!!! After waiting in a cold room for the small portable heater they brought to work, I went for dinner. Unfortunately, they did not have any food, or rather only bits for all the various meals, but not an actual meal on the menu. This was also the case the second night. As you can imagine, we booked a different hotel for the following week. 13 October 2014

Good value room and only gripe would be quality of breakfast - poor quality orange juice (my benchmark), limited range of food available, milk jugs not monitored so guests had to ask for more milk. Table cleared though during course of breakfast which was good. 11 October 2014

I choose this hotel as I would rather drive 20 miles to work and then back, than go to the non-IHG hotel that's 1 mile from site. 08 October 2014
