This hotel is in an excellent location, to access Cambridge by train. The room was large and clean and the bathroom was clean with a large shower. The breakfast was fine and there were several options to choose from. The staff were particularly excellent and were very helpful on several occasions. This was our second stay and I would book again if in the area.

Aside from the sat-nav taking me down a dead end, the Holiday Inn at Duxford is a hidden gem. A recently built hotel the rooms are very nice, brilliant en-suite, shame about the small tv.
Next door is the Red Lion, which unlike a lot of pubs next to hotels serves freshly made food, excellent choice, very tasty and reasonably priced.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Topgear Bett zu weich, Frühstücksbuffet wenig Auswahl

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Ginoginelli Good hotel, just beware of the trains
Checked in to hotel and went up to room, opened door to find hat, shoes and clothes on the bed. Went back down to reception to be advised that someone must have allocated that room to someone else, was given a second room which wasn't a family room (it only had 2 single beds) so back down to reception and had to wait for another family room to be made up.
I was very concerned that I had been given a key to s room that someone was already in. especially the security aspect.
This also concerned me that someone else could be given a key to my room !!
The rooms on the car park side are quiet but the family room we had overlooked the railway station and with a constant stream of trains stopping made for what we thought would be a noisy night but it wasn't and we all slept like babies.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ped757 Perfect for a short visit
We chose this Hotel due to its proximity to the train station and the Imperial War Museum at Duxford.
Located right next to the train station made it easy for us to get the train from Stansted Airport and also for subsequent trips into Cambridge which only takes about 8 minutes.
Our room looked right onto the platform, however, the noise from passing trains was hardly noticeable. The room itself was clean and comfortable with two pillows provided for each bed. Clothes hang on a rail in the room and there were no drawers for putting other items of clothing in and no safe, however, for us it was perfectly fine for our 2 night stay.
Breakfast was fine as well for a short stay, sausage, scrambled eggs, beans, toast, cereal, croissants and fruit all of acceptable quality. The Red Lion Hotel is next door and serves perfectly acceptable dinners. Best book a table though if the Holiday Inn is busy. The Reception staff will do this for you. Staff overall were friendly and efficient. I would certainly recommend this Hotel for a short stay and would most definetely use it myself in future.
