Rang before hand to alter date after booking, receptionists quite abrupt and unhelpful. Changed it myself on Internet. Gentleman on reception was lovely when we arrived. The one in the morning was a bit abrupt, maybe the one Who had answered the phone to me the previous week. But overall a lovely place very near to all the amenities.

On arrival the staff were lovely. The room appeared clean and had a fresh feel. The visit soon went down hill after a 3 hour drive I went to make myself a hot drink only to find no stock of tea of coffee. The room was directly outside an internal door to the other rooms and this banged through the night. I had no internet access it kept dropping. The mattress was so lumpy I slept on the quilt and used my coat to cover me. In the morning I then discovered the hair dryer did not work. When I left and reported the issues I just got a "thank you for telling us" and nothing at all in the way of confidence the issues would be rectified. Disappointing as I use this hotel quite a bit.

We recently spent 2 nights at the hotel and overall we found it very good. However, our first night was a problem due to the noise from the hotel's air conditioning system. After complaining to reception in person at midnight (the in room telephones weren't working) it was eventually switched off but we requested to be moved to another room the next day.
The room switch was handled brilliantly by Emma, the duty manager, who offered a choice of rooms and personally showed us what was available. We spoke to her on a number of occasions during our stay and we were impressed at how helpful, polite and friendly she was, a real credit to the hotel.
We will definitely stay here again when we next visit Chester.
