Had a great experience AST the Holiday Inn Suites - Heaven was more than accommodating to us during our stay. He upgraded us into a suite, although we weren't in the hotel long enough to enjoy the luxuries, it made us feel valued. Room was clean and staff was friendly - I would come here again.

I was spending one last night in Chicago with 7 teens after we had spent a week on a mission trip, sleeping on the floor. I honestly just booked it because of the price and its proximity to the airport. I was blown away at how we were treated, from every single call I made to all of our questions - the staff acted like we were the most important guests there on a Saturday night when the hotel was full! Our rooms were very clean and extremely comfortable, and the breakfast was surprisingly excellent. Next time I will look for HIE FIRST - definitely exceeded my expectations in every way.

We have stayed at a number of HIEs all around the country and have had wonderful service, but I would have to rate the front desk young ladies at your establishment as exceptional. To the person, they were accommodating, friendly and very helpful even to the extent of finding us at breakfast and spending a moment with us and helping us plan our inerary for the day and even print out directions.
We had little contact with the gentleman we found at the desk, but if the young women are any indication.......
One negative was the condition of the mattress in the hide-a-bed sofa which was partly in shreds and really needs to be replaced. ( room 230, I think )
One other point was the lack of a pool.

I got the feeling that the cleaning people didn't even come into my room previous to my stay besides to replace the soap, hang up towels, and make the beds. Finding others' clothes in your hotel room is never a good thing. I know I will not be staying at this Holiday Inn Express again and I don't recommend it. I am glad I was only staying for one night.

My only wish was that there would be a few more restaurants in the area and hotel complex would have a pool and hot tub.

This was my first stay at this particular Chicago location. I have stayed at the Merchandise Mart location on several different occasions. Due to Lalapalooza being in town the same weekend, there was a lack of availability at my preferred location. I was prepared for the longer drive and lack of accessibility to mass transit. I was not prepared for the tiny, tiny room or the extremely loud, groaning, creaky mattress. Good thing we only had sleep on our minds or everyone on the block would have known.
For the price, I was not impressed with the amenities. This is the first Holiday Inn, nationwide, that I have stayed in where Priority Club Members didn't get some little extra perk. Usually you are greeted with a bottle of water, a newspaper, extended checkout, or some little "Thank You" That was not the case at this location.
On the plus side, the desk clerk, Heaven, is a wonderful employee. She is an asset to Holiday Inn. She was the bright spot of the stay. I hope she is valued and treated well by management.

I was at this hotel of 7/22/14 and it was clear they had renovations underway. They had part of the first floor tented off for renovations I think. The room I was in the fourth floor was dated and the bed was not that comfortable. Once the updates are done I am sure it will be better.
I want to mention how great Heaven the front desk person was while I was there. She had great energy when I checked in at around 9:00pm and when I went back to the desk for some toothpaste I seen she had the same great energy at almost midnight.
Breakfast was standard fare for Holiday Inn Express. One other note, as a Platinum Member parking was free for my stay.

The check-in experience was second to none. There is a check in clerk named "Heaven" and she is truly heavenly. She was wonderful, very professional and friendly. I have stayed at many Holiday Inn Express, but she is a cut above the rest. One of the reasons I choose to stay at Holiday Inn Express is because of the breakfast. I was disappointed this Holiday Inn Express did not have the cinnamon rolls. There was a young lady, I did not get her name, went out of her way to get me some cinnamon rolls. I asked if there was cinnamon rolls and was told no. I went to my room and came back to the breakfast area. The young lady came up to me and said, "I managed to find three cinnamon rolls in the back, would you like some of them. I wanted to give her a huge hug #that's how much I like you guys cinnamom rolls#. She did not have to do this. It was a very kind gesture that I will remember for a long time. You guys have wonderful people working for you all of the country where I travel and stay at your Holiday Inn Express.

I travel three to four days and nights per week...without question, the staff at this location is undoubtedly the best I have ever encountered (and that's quite a few)...this property has always raised it's standards at each visit, so that being said...instead of expecting something familiar or just the same routine, I am met with quite the opposite, which is always a unique and refreshing experience starting when I first step into the lobby...time after time.

The staff at this hotel went out of their way to make me and my kids comfortable which was nice considering I was traveling with two small children alone. They made sure I had a fridge for bottles and a crib for my baby. They offered a good breakfast and called a shuttle for the airport for us in the morning and the ladies at the desk helped me carry my luggage out to the shuttle when they saw me struggling. I will definitely stay here from now on whenever I fly out of the midway airport.

The room was fine, neat, and comfortable. We had some door lock issues that kept us locked out a few times but the staff was very helpful in getting the issue resolved. The room could use a bathroom fan, but not much they could do about that. Breakfast was good and convenient. The shuttle to the airport is a really nice feature as well.

I have stayed over 1000 nights in hotels over the last 25 years and I have never stayed in a hotel that had the exercise room right next to a guest room. I was lucky enough to be put in the room next to the exercise room, that states it is open 24 hours. Normally, the exercise room is located next to the pool or offices on the first floor. At this hotel, it is on the 4th floor. I only hope they do not have a guest room on the 3rd floor. The big issue is when someone runs on the treadmill. I was able to experience the sound and vibration until about 12:30 am and then again at 5:30 am. Unfortunately, when I called about 11:00 pm to get another room, the hotel was sold out.
I will compliment the staff as they listened and apologized about the issue.

Great staff, clean hotel, and quiet stay. My only comment, if IHG/HI Express Corporate would listen, retire the omelets and just have scrabbled eggs at breakfast. The cheese product in the center of these omelets ruins the flavor. Sam's Club once sold these same omelets several years ago. They are no longer at the clubs. If there was someone at HI Express to forward this too, I surely would.

I am a female in my mid-40's and was travelling alone. As I checked in the front desk person asked if I had a room preference, to which I responded anything but the first floor. I returned to the hotel around 12 midnight. The parking lot was well-lit. There was ample parking and secured key doors on multiple sides of the hotel so I did not have to walk around the outside of the building to find a door. I don't recall any large bushes close to the building for people to potentially hide behind, but there was ample greenery.
