Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by HI Express Chula Vista - Diamond in the Rough This hotel had clean rooms (although the hotel seemed old but updated) comfortable beds, microwave, fridge and large parking spots. Bathrooms were clean. Carpet was clean and had lots of padding. The front desk staff, Maria Elena, Tiffany and Carlos provided outstanding customer service. Breakfast was average, but hot, fresh and adequately replenished. Our sink was plugged up and they were quick to respond offering to move us to another room and submitted a work repair ticket to be fixed the following morning. We opted to stay in the room. Unfortunately, we did not feel safe in the area. It is in a bad part of town, lots of foot traffic, a liquor store next door, and the parking lot is right next to the street. My sister was approached as we were walking to our car by a panhandler asking for money. We did not feel safe or comfortable in this area. The hotel was adequate, but the area was not suitable for two women traveling together. This hotel might be okay for others, but not for us. August 24, 2015

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Hotel Carlos at the front desk is what hotel customer service should be. That is something that you cannot teach he is genuine and helpful. Each employee that I had encountered in my two day stay was smiling and said hello or good morning with eye contact Wonderful!! Customer service these days have gone by the wayside, this includes guests that stay at hotels, they have lost the site that they need to be just as polite and hospitable as the person that is helping them, not self entitled and rude. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by A good place to stay in Chula Vista... This hotel is the one I go to when staying in Chula Vista for work. The staff is considerate and accommodating, the facility itself is in good condition, and the rooms are generally comfortable. If you are unfortunate enough to get rooms located next to their roof mounted air conditioning systems it can get a little noisy at times, but after 12 hours of work I usually fall right asleep. Internet connectivity needs to be improved as some rooms barely receive the wireless signal. Overall a good place to stay! August 19, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by one of my favorites This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and I will again. This hotel is what I have come to except from Holiday Inn Expresses- clean, decent complimentary breakfast with hot and cold foods, comfortable beds, nice sized rooms, decent price for the type of hotel, good location, good no hassle internet access, quiet, coffee pot in room (and microwave and frig), but the staff is what makes this a favorite. The staff is friendly and efficient from check in to check out. I asked about check out and seeing my hesitation, the front desk person asked if I would like a late check out. You are greeted with a smile from every staff member, without it being intrusive. The breakfast is kept well stocked and they don't rush you even near the ending time. No knock on the door early like some hotels like to do. Clean is what I look for first, but professional friendliness can make or break a stay. August 17, 2015
