Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable Beds We stayed in a 2 room suite so that our adult son could have a hide-a-bed and some privacy. Not a good choice, because the hide-a-bed mattress was about 4" thick and he stayed on it for about 10 minutes. He said he could feel the bar across his back as soon as he laid down, so he finally unpacked his air mattress and just slept on the floor. We could have saved a little money by just having one room because we also had to traipse through his room to get to the bathroom. The regular beds were very comfortable with great pillows and nice linens. The shower was good but the tub area looked like it could use a little touch up. The breakfast was typical but tasty and the attendant was friendly, as was the girl at the front desk. February 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Unique floor plan and architecture. Unfortunately they had a sprinkler issue and were remodeling and fixing the damage. However, our room was clean and comfortable. Loved the interior atrium and breakfast area. Thanks for a great stay. February 3, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing Stay in Covington This hotel was not clearly identified as a property under construction at the time of my reservation. The condition of the property was poor and extremely dirty. The staff offered no apology for the condition of the space and were not friendly. I have enjoyed most Holiday Inn Express properties but this was a big disappointment. I had heard that a new property is being built in the town so I imagine they did not care much about this current property. February 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Unclean Room Issue My room was top floor next to elevator, first to be fair the hotel had a water pipe break so they are doing major repairs inside, so no business center and workers all around. My issues was this...stains on chairs, desk had a broken leg that was barely holding it up with staples coming out of it, the floor had PILLS around it and under it, along with candy and popcorn, the HVAC was Extremely loud, the closet door handle was being held on with velcro, the bathroom light hums at a very loud pace, towels were rough and scratchy, elevator was very dirty. Breakfast was limited and coffee cold and nasty. I also forgot to check my clock radio but someone set the alarm to go off at midnight just as I had started to fall asleep.. Positives....Staff at front desk at checkin was polite and nice, and the GM was also nice...Parking is great, easy and well lit. January 23, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by great place for a stop over We used holiday inn express as a stop over on a trip from new orleans to charleston,s.c.,The motel is currently under contruction,however,when this is completed it will be a very beautiful place to stay. There are several restaurants within a 2/3 mile area,good for eat in or take out. All in all we enjoyed our brief stay tremendously and plan on stopping when ever we are in this area. The A/C in my room was so loud and when I spoke with the front desk person about it the next day she rolled her eyes while never putting down her cellphone. Also, I had ladybugs all over my room everynight. It was completely disgusting and I am beyond disappointed. December 24, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 lazy front desk At 11/20/15 I came back from work, tried to get a coffee down stairs, but all six Coffee pots were empty. Sure, its sometimes happen, so I did go to the reception and asked that young black lady, if there would be a possibility to get later some coffee? She just said, oh sorry, but we do provide only coffee for breakfast. That's it. Well, I know it is not true since it would be the first Holiday Inn worldwide which wouldn't care their guests and also this hotel provided all those days coffee, if this young lady wasn't on duty. So, I asked again, are you sure there is no possibility that you guys brew new coffee? She just said, yep, tomorrow morning again. Well, she was also the one who did check me in 11/15/15, and she didn't care my Spire Elite Status. Normally if I get to any Holiday Inn, they offer me right away at least a water or something like this. I asked the Lady after I got my room key, if she wouldn't mind to get me a water? She looked at me for a moment, said then, sure. I mean, this lady simply didn't care her customers, so why she work over there if she is too lazy to do her job? The other staff were very helpful there. But if I come back later, I really hope I do not have to deal with this lazy butt again... December 12, 2015
